Liked:- Easy access to Canberra. Good Amenities with a heat lamp. Wonderful camp kitchen. Fully enclosed with areas to chat and 2 tvs
Disliked:- We have a 24ft van and the corners are to tight and the van jumps the gutter. Most sites are not level. Washing is $6 per load and so is the dryer and you have to get tokens from reception.

We went to this park for the first time, as reports on this site have shown an improving rating over the past few years, and our long term preferred park does not have the Ensuite Sites we now need. Sure enough the park showed much evidence of spending on upgrading - cabins, amenities blocks (someone told us the amenity block near us was "state of the art" and certainly our ensuite was very well appointed), pool and recreation areas. Our only reservation was that the bitumen surface of our site was broken along one side, and it needed care to access the steps to the ensuite. The staff are friendly and helpful, the layout of the clothes drying area is well designed, the laundry is very well equipped with big machines, and the cafe was popular. We liked the bird life and the huge nature park with walking and mountain bike trails right next door. You do need a GPS to find the park too.

Park is situated right next to conservation park so there are lots of trees around the park and bird life. It is quiet and peaceful. Short drive to the city and its attractions. All drive through sites. Lots of cabins to choose from.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $40 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, kiosk, dump point, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Clean BBQs. Good playground, in good condition. Clean pool. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Brand new amenities block. All roads are sealed. Ensuite sites available. Very well maintained park. Heating in amenities which helped in the freezing cold winter.
Disliked:- No grass, small concrete annex slabs which would not be suitable for erecting an annex. However this does not detract from this well maintained and clean park. Showers could do with shower curtains to stop shower from spaying onto floor in drying area.
Parking:- Plenty of room for parking. Park a little hard to find because Canberra don't seem to like big signage of any kind.
Local Information:- Visit the War memorial, Australian Mint, Parliament house, museums, Botanic gardens, galleries and Cockington Green miniature village.
