A good park to stay a couple of days. A bit overpriced at $41 less Top Tourist discount. Staff friendly. We had a nice big site but gravel. Amenities clean.

Whilst some complain about the price for this park, we thought it was excellent value for money in the section we were parked, and noting the exorbitant price Broken Hill residents pay for water. Second amenity block was being renovated during our stay and a separate set of toilets were down the other end of the park for those residents.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $41 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $36.90, reduced for chain discount. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool, pool is shaded. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- We had a site on wood chips right near reception. The wood chips meant no dust and the roads in this section were bitumen. The site was wider than it was longer=huge! Cheese and crackers, put on by the park in the afternoons to enable a meet and greet of fellow travellers, was really enjoyable. Excellent TV reception
Parking:- Signs at reception directing where to park for checkin....great if they are followed.
Added Touches:- Free cheese and crackers every afternoon
Local Information:- Town tour (departs from park) conducted by long time local Ross was fantastic. Lots of information not covered by the tour books was really interesting and gave good pointers for additional things to do in Broken Hill.

Great spot for a few days whilst exploring Broken Hill Staff extremely helpful I had to shift from one ensuite location to another, as the original was a bit tight for a 22" van it was not a problem to them. I was then parked under tree and couple of small branches where rubbing on the roof of the van the handy man was there in 10 minutes to trim the tree. Noise from the Highway was not a major problem

$33.30 per night 2 adults powered after chain discount. Since our last visit there are now only bitumen or pine chip sites. The grass has gone and some of this area has been replaced by cabins. The amenities were clean but badly in need of a makeover. Clean pool. Cheese and biscuits with a talk about what to see and do on a Tuesday afternoon. Still think this is the better park in town but needs some TLC.

Very dry around Broken Hill, no difference at this park very dry and dusty, quite different to the Top Tourist DVD, where we were there was a Vet opposite and had to contend with barking dogs day and night, down the back would be better. My biggest complaint was that every night around 8.45pm to 9.20pm a road train driver changeover would happen right opposite the park and for the whole time the truck would be idling with air valves blowing even when the relief driver would arrive they would stand and have a chat for at least 10 minutes. This park IS on the heavy vehicle alternative route.

There are several different types of sites here, all with different prices. Many of the grass sites have been replaced with cabins since we were last here. The small sites are not really suitable for caravans (no room for your awning or car). The amenities block is still in need of a makeover, no different to our last visit several years ago. Poor value for money.

This is a huge park. We had a small site on woodchips which was fine. We were offered a bitumen site to start which would have been $2 more expensive than the woodchips. Looked like a car park. There is a vet across the road and the dogs barked quite a bit, however we weren't too bothered by them.

Liked:- Convenient location with only a 10 minutes walk to the Centro shopping centre.
Parking:- Drive in the driveway and there are signs to tell you where to park while booking in.
Added Touches:- They have a pancake breakfast on Thursdays. BYO mug, plate and cutlery.
Local Information:- The galleries are great, in particular, Pro Hart and the Big Picture - amazing. The living desert sculptures and Flora and Fauna Sanctuary are both beautiful to see and walk through. Picnic tables etc. are provided. We had dinner at Bettina's Restaurant (steak and seafood) at the Hilltop Motel (a 20 min walk from the park). Delicious food and good service at a reasonable price.
Road Conditions:- Good

This is a very convenient park to stay when in Broken Hill. The price is $37.00 per night for two, but with TT discount we paid $33.30. We were on a wood chip site directly opposite the swimming pool. The site was very wide but not that deep. Very pleasant and helpful management and they were also very helpful with tourist information. The disabled facilities were first class, the amenity block nearest to us was always clean but will need upgrading in the near future. We would definitely stay again.

We have stayed there on three occassions over the years but they are adding cabins and getting very expensive $40, the night for a powered site which was nothing but a bit of dirt. The park is busy, packed full and although in a good position its very poor value for money. We pay less on the beach in Adelaide than here. The staff are average, the facilities have some difficulty coping when busy but are clean enough. We will try elsewhere next time in town. Broken Hill which survives on tourists these days for a lot of income needs to have a good look at the costs as many will start to drive past.

They have a variety of different sites from drive thru to grass and all are a different size and price. The site we were given was very small and we were unable to put out our awning despite the office staff knowing the size of our van. We didn't realise that other sites were much larger until we were set up so it pays to check first.

This isn't really a report on the park but on the experience. This is our third stay at this park and each time it is a new experience. A very busy and very large park. So many options and this time a grassed site. Cramped at times but always changing. Facilities great, very clean and tidy. Suits all budgets. This park is like (for us) the Sydney Caravan and camping show. Here you get to see every possible combination for accommodation. From tents to car top beds to 5th wheelers to the smallest and largest caravans. You get to see what cars work with what caravans etc. Plenty of showers, laundry great and plenty of drying area. Will come again and again.

Park experience this time most disappointing. Site had no sullage point, and when asked what we were expected to do, staff told us to use a bucket or get a longer hose and get water to run up hill. These sites were along the creek/storm drain, and none had sullage. When I went to empty into 2 different drains both were blocked and did not drain. Ladies main toilet block flooded consistently with water from a broken cistern, and a cistern that had been marked for replacement a while ago was still not done. While our site was a good size, there are several rows where the site is only wide enough for the van and awning, and they are not deep enough to allow parking on your site. When cars were parked at the front of the site, they took up the entire width of the site, and made entry to other sites difficult. All in all, at the price charged ($37 per night) they represented poor value.
