This is a very well kept park with the grounds in pretty good condition considering its location. We had an ensuite site which had a carport type cover over it which would be very handy during summer and was appreciated during a couple showers of rain. The ensuite itself was good with the added touch of a heater. This clean and tidy park is well worth a visit.

Booking - why bother. We rang 2 days prior to arriving to book an ensuite site - the manager said all OK and would reply with a email. Email did not arrive before we arrived at the park. We checked at the office and guess what - no ensuite sites available. Our booking wasn't booked. We took a non-ensuite site, then later that evening the booking email arrives but doesn't specify an ensuite site. Two days later another email arrives with a booking for an ensuite site but for 4 weeks time when we will be in SA. The park was that busy there were at least two vans parked overnight on access roads. Free wifi was near impossible to log onto after trying 3 different devices.
Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $30 for 2A, powered, shoulder season. Paid $27.00, reduced for Big 4 discount. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Noisy, claustrophobic park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- Leaving.
Disliked:- Booking service woeful.
Local Information:- Lunch specials at the New Crown hotel in the centre of town were excellent - 2 large crumbed cutlets and heaps of veggies for $10.

Absolutely gorgeous park . Lovely well maintained grounds with lawns and gardens everywhere . Sites great ...some drive through made of clean blue metal with paving tiles for the annex area. Great ablutions with heaps of hot water and huge pressure. Poor tv reception but generous free wifi so watched Downton abbey episode we had missed! Town has free swimming pool...And free push bikes from the tourist bureau. The shearers hall of fame is amazing and really well done. The museum at the railway station is about the prisoners of war internment camp at Hay during the war and is very interesting. We had a lovely stay at Hay.. Worth at least 2-3 nights .

This being a Big 4 park caters for families and children . We paid $30 a night, we were put on a site in the camping area as it was Easter and we didn't book Unfortunately we were surrounded by tents with lots of noisy small kids, so it wasn't much fun. On our second day we had a tent right in front of our van , completely blocking our exit. Although the owner was helpful & friendly, we were sorry we paid for 3 days. Don't think we'll bother again.

A very good caravan park. Most sites have slabs or grass and are spacious. The amenities are old but spotless. Plenty to do in Hay. There are 5 museums and several good walks.

This Big4 park, is just far off the two highways that pass through the town to give a peaceful night's sleep. Sites are long enough to be able to keep the car and van hooked up,level and easy to access, the welcome was friendly and efficient. Amenities are close to most sites and the dump point easily accessed. Amenities are clean and well maintained. The main shopping area, the river and walks, the Shearers Outback museum are all in walking distance from the park. A good overnight stopping point.
