Two years ago (see report below) there was no provision to dry your hands in the toilets. There still isn't! This is a small basic van park with no installed features for children. It does have its own boat ramp for those people who float in tin tubs under the pretense of fishing. Being right on the river bank it is also ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and generally messing about in the river. We stayed 13 nights and averaged $31 per night with the seventh night free. TV reception was the best we've ever had in a van park. You can receive every channel with any aerial better than a bent coat hanger. Mobile phone reception on Vodafone was awful but wireless internet on Telstra was good. Because of the narrow internal access roads, putting a van longer than 5 metres on site in peak period would be challenging to say the least. Some people had trouble with plenty of vacant spaces around, but some have trouble reversing a van in a five acre paddock don't they? Despite no hand towels and a grubby barbecue it is an otherwise well maintained park.
Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is bad / Variable pressure experienced, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Some unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site. No rec room, no camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available. carrier used was Vodaphone, reception quality was 1. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanent/annual vans. Dirty UC BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Quiet, small and friendly guests. Well located.
Disliked:- C'mon put some paper towels in the toilet.
Parking:- If there is more than one rig booking in ahead of you stay out on the street.
Local Information:- It is a five to seven hundred metre walk to 2 shopping centres, the RSL club, bowling club and the "Boatshed" coffee shop which is adjacent to the RSL car park. The shop across the road from the van park's front gate does about 300 versions of a hamburger and a most generous serving of a $2 ice cream cone. I tried them all to ensure that I could write with authority.
