Previous reports cover this park very well. Discounted midweek price is now $35/night 2A ensuite. Paid in advance with no refund if you cancel . Lots of changes being made by the new owners/managers. Green matting & older slabs being replaced by new concrete slabs & these are then covered with astro-turf. Parking of vans on checking in is still a but sus. OK for one van but waiting area for additional vans is not obvious.

Great park just out of town. The park is situated alongside a inlet away from the ocean which gives it protection from the strong winds. The owner has strict security giving us confidence walking around at night. TV reception was great, lawned areas with slabs. A dog area was on one side of the park. Amenities were spotless some of the best we have encountered. Plenty to see and do, Smokey Cape lighthouse, the jail and good fishing. Great club for dinner as well. Great park would recommend highly.

As always enjoyed our visit this year but found the Park to be quite busy with Vic grey nomads who appear not to be travelling up as far as they used to. Reception staff were very friendly and Maddy's pancake day is something to look forward to and enjoy. The park hasn't changed much over the years we have been coming here at different times and is always neat and tidy with very clean amenities. Staff will assist with any problems. Had a few issues with TV reception but this was due to the unseasonal weather that we experienced on this holiday.

This park simply has to be one of the best in Australia. Ideally located on the banks of the river a short and beautiful stroll into town, its location is quiet, peaceful and easily accessible for large and small vans. From the perfectly laid out entry way, allowing several vans to queue to the incredibly friendly staff it is great from the start. The roads are well paved and kerbed, the over sized sites flat and well maintained. The pool, camp kitchen, outdoor dining areas and carefully maintained gardens are nothing short of perfect. Likewise the amenities blocks which are spotlessly clean, modern spacious and amongst the best in Australia. The park is well grassed with adequate shade if required. The owners work actively on site and take great pride in their park. A well deserved top rating

We arrived and were the third van to check in. As each van in front of us was served the office lady insisted we move forward/adjacent so as not to block access to the park. This involved walking back to the vehicle twice to move the van forward. None of the 3 vans were blocking access and if the lady served us quicker rather than worrying about where we were parked, an unpleasant start would have been avoided.
Unfriendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $55 for 2A P/N, ensuite, shoulder season. Paid $49.50, reduced for Top Tourist discount. Amenities are close to only some sites. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motor homes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, disabled facilities, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanents. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Grassy sites. Walking distance to town. Dog friendly.
Disliked:- Sites at the western end of the park have a 100m walk to amenities.
Parking:- Redesign of waiting area is required. OK for one van but additional vans are required to park side by side at entry when clearly there is not enough room for this. and then perform a 90 degree turn to get out. Turning area is insufficient to allow 2 vans to turn side by side despite what the office lady advises.
