Convenient location with 450 metre walk to town. Park is dustier than when we were last here in 2019. Proximity to river is excellent. The slope on some sites can be a little tricky. Amenities blocks, which require a key, are adequately clean. Tumut has a good and comprehensive shopping centre for a town of this size. Tons of shade, in one part of the park, because of oaks, elms and other exotic deciduous trees. Dusk and dawn are the best times to see platypus in the fast-flowing river that borders the park.

In a town already renowned for its beauty, this park certainly contributes. Even in the prevailing drought the pleasant, clean, fast flowing river, which borders much of the park boundary, proves itself by being the home of many platypuses. You can often spot them if you are quiet at dusk and dawn. A rare opportunity when only 450 metres from Woolworths. Plenty of attractions in and around town and the information centre is excellent. Definitely on the Go-Back-To list. Because we stayed for more than 6 nights we had a seventh night free deal, then we stayed for 3 more nights so it's unlikely that our $35ish per night will be the same as yours.
Friendly staff. Good value for money, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good camp kitchen, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Vodaphone, reception quality was 2. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground, in good condition. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- The river and the beautiful aged oak, elm and maple trees providing shade within the park.
Local Information:- Plenty of pubs in town (you can walk), 5 restaurants and numerous coffee shops including the recently opened"Two Tarts" and another at the race course.
