We stayed here last year and rated it 4. The experience in the restaurant this year marred our otherwise pleasant stay. Powered sites were $30 but still good value. At dinner, I ordered the same Ultimate Hamburger as last year ($20), with chips ($2.50). The hamburger, as the name suggests, comes with all the trappings ... or is supposed to. What was litterally dumped in front of me by the itinerant diner worker who rushed off (I soon realised why he was in a rush) was a flat bun with a flat patty, a flat egg, and tomato sauce (not the special sauce) sparingly squirted on. Hold on. Where's the beetroot, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and that special sauce? When I queried it with the woman behind the bar who took my order, she later came out to say that they had run out of salad ingredients. That seemed okay as an explanation to her as she went to walk off. Hold on, I paid $20 for an Ultimate hamburger, not 1/2 a hamburger. Oh, and by the way, you charged $4 for wedges when I ordered, and received, chips ($2.50). I got a full refund (after a struggle, mind). The next day I saw the same woman and told her why I was so peeved. 'What if I had ordered steak and chips and I was just given chips, with the explanation, oh we're out of steak, AFTER it is delivered to me, and ONLY after I query it.' She finally saw my side of why I had been peeved off the night before. I honestly put it down to the inconsideration of the foreign itinerant kitchen staff, and the Aussie itinerant bar staff woman, but it is still the establishment's role to make sure they know their role.

Nice to finally have grass under us in a NT caravan park, and it takes a roadhouse to provide it and not a traditional park. Go figure. Some sites with shade if you park on the eastern side of the powered area. Basic amenities right opposite this area. Clean pool and spa (the old pool area is closed and drained - the new pool area is outside the beer garden). The spa was a lot cooler than the warm pool. We chose the spa in the heat of the day. When booking into a powered site ($28), you get a voucher for a free house wine plus a schooner of beer. We had a meal at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and size of meals. I was thinking of having the Truckers Heaven Mixed Grill but the waitress talked me out it - she said it was HUGE. After having a HUGE mixed grill in Wales in 2014 and then suffering 3 heart attacks right afterwards, I took her advice and opted for the large $20 hamburger. My wife had the succulent salt and pepper squid ($18). Gas refills at a pleasant price too. We'd stay here again.

Good spot for an overnighter. Nice grassy sites. Can stay hooked on. Pool "out of order". Fuel, drinks and huge meals available at the roadhouse. Good alternative to the pub where people were packed in and very dusty.
