At $42 p/n 2A pwrd ok value for money in Darwin. A tough one to give a rating to. Had all the bells and whistles of a Big 4 but the staff upon arrival were not exactly welcoming and you really had to be aware of the stay 4 pay 3 deal- and haggle for it as they weren't going to offer it up. Wouldn't honour Big 4 discount during subsequent period. Of concern during our 6 night stay there were 3 significant tree limb/trunk drops in our area, and many other smaller branches way too close to our car and van, which makes us think never again. 1 tree limb came down (admittedly during a storm) and crashed onto the roof/side of our rear neighbours causing significant damage. The other falls didn't hit anything thankfully-but one was a 4m trunk that was dead and hadn't been removed. So tree maintenance/vigilence isn't up to tropics requirements especially when you expect people to park and sleep under them! Facilities however are very good. Huge park, lots of grass sites, concrete slabs, at least 3 amenities blocks-well cleaned daily but bugs rule in the tropics, 2 pools, water park, jumping pillow, 2 dump points, huge camp kitchen area. Good TV, telstra, optus and internet. Supposed to be free wifi, however reception never offered it up and we didn't need a dose their disdain again by going to ask for it. Laundry was good.

Expensive at 47 bucks a night for a powered site for 2 adults. But that is Darwin at peak time. Ground staff inc. reception were very friendly. The same cannot be said about the two in charge of the place. Booked about 4 months in advance and was quoted $1064 for the stay. Tried to ping me for $1194. After very little discussion got the site for $1064. Have to agree with previous contributors reports about the park. Could be an absolute ripper of a park if there were any sort of maintenance standards. 4 Amenities blocks, 2 of which are new and the other 2 are much older which we ended up near. Cannot comment on the 2 newer blocks as we never went there. However the 2 older blocks are in desperate need of a plumbing overhaul. Blockages caused overflows etc. with one block having a distinct sewerage smell for the whole time we were there. Water pressure was abysmal. Cleaning was OK, but a bit of a spray of disinfectant and sweet smelling stuff would not have gone astray. 2 pools in the park. A small one at one end of the park and much larger one in the center of the park which caters for the masses. Quite a few leaves in the pool, which did not worry us. However, for such a large pool in a large park only 1 deck chair was provided. Bins emptied daily but never cleaned once while we were there and after emptying some of the bins were a bit on the nose. A bit of a hose out with some cleaning product would not go astray. Apart from the plumbing problem which would cost a bit all the other gripes that most people have about the park could be solved at very little cost. Saying that, we shall stay again next year as we want to experience the wet season. Sites come in all shapes and sizes but staff guide you to the site and assistance with getting onto the site is given if needed. Park has 2 Dump Points and all the kids things. For such a large park in the peak season it was remarkably peaceful and quiet.
