This park was such a disappointment we left a day early. Next time we would stay at Jabiru.
Friendly staff. Poor value for money $99 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Kiosk, dump point, no wireless internet available., mobile wireless not available. Quiet, claustrophobic park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean pool, pool is shaded.
Liked:- The pool and the restaurant.
Disliked:- This park was stupidly expensive - we only stayed because it was the only park taking bookings in Kakadu. The sites are dusty and dry. The amenities are poorly serviced considering how busy the park is. There is very limited internet coverage (3G).
Local Information:- Mixed feelings about Kakadu NP. The park is so big it takes a long time to get between the different areas. Some were spectacular, others meh. Here's our opinion of a few - Yellow water boat cruise. Fantastic. Warradjan cultural centre. Very good. Nourlangie rock art. Very good. Bowali visitor centre. Good. Mamukala wetlands. Very good. Cahill’s crossing. Average. Ubirr. Rock art and lookout. Fantastic. We didn't go to Maguk or Jim Jim - reports were the tracks going in were pretty rugged.
