This park is busy and had 4 occupied people working behind the desk on Sunday afternoon. There are about 130 sites & you'd describe ours as generous. This is a good average park with the biggest and best ablutions block. The ablutions block is immaculate and looks brand new but isn't quite. Despite pre booking, we could only stay 2 nights because it was booked out.
$45 for 2A. Paid $40.50, reduced for top parks. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Liked:- The amenities block.
Parking:- Drive in and immediately park on the RIGHT hand side.
Added Touches:- They feed the parrots every afternoon at a designated site in the CP.

Friendly, helpful staff. Cost was $240 for the week for a powered site for 2a. Sites vary in quality, it may be worth checking first. Our site was too small and staff happy to help us find another one. Spotless amenities. Grounds well maintained, camp kitchen and BBQs very clean. Daily bird feeding that the kids loved. Good location, about 1 km walk to town or Port Airlie where many of the boats leave for island tours. Once a week BBQ for charity. We enjoyed our time at Gateway.

Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, basic camp kitchen, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, claustrophobic park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Closest park to main street.
Disliked:- Dog owners segregated into the camping area. Worst toilet paper in 5 years. Waste of time WiFi, Some sites were muddy.

We thought this was a lovely park to stay in. We had a large grassy site down the back of the park along a quite road. The residents living behind the park were quite. The staff working at this park are very friendly and helpful. There are 2 amenity blocks, one is old and in need of renovating. The other amenity block is new. They have a camp kitchen, a TV room, pool and also have lots of bush stone-curlew birds living at this park. The sites are level and some have cement slabs. The park is opposite a hotel where the meals are quite reasonable. They allow pets at this park but they are in a separate area to the non-pet area. There was good TV and phone reception at this park. We paid cash at this park as there is a fee to use credit card.
