Unlike any caravan park we have been to before. It is across the road from the roadhouse, a dirt block with two brick amenities housing four separate toilets & showers, almost like ensuites. An additional block of demountable toilet/showers is along a bit with 4 more ensuite like rooms. Park anywhere & hook up best you can, the "ensuites" are for everyone.
Average staff friendliness, no complaints. Very good value for money $15 for 2A, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. No wireless internet available.. Noisy, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Cheap, easy to walk everywhere. Thermal hot pool free, key from Visitors Centre
Disliked:- No actual designated parking spots. Drive in & camp anywhere, close to power & water.
Parking:- Find a spot then cross the road to the roadhouse & pay.
Local Information:- Thermal spa pool. Very helpful lady at the Visitors Centre
Road Conditions:- Road sealed from Boulia now, from Birdsville there is only 60km of dirt the rest is sealed & was in good condition both before & after the races.

Very friendly staff, no complaints. Good value for money $30 for 2A, ensuite, peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites. No wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Park is basic - is in a remote location, but operators (who run shop/bar opposite) are very friendly and helpful. General sites are first come first served (no set sites) but only really busy around race weekend (Sept). En-suites are generous with a fantastic verandah area. Lots of take away, and fresh food available at shop -check when the supply truck is due.
Parking:- Huge parking area outside shop/petrol station.
Added Touches:- Free shuttle out to the racecourse on race weekend.
Local Information:- Town has an (old) pub and a great swimming pool (cold). Good stop off place on the way south to Birdsville.
