Cape Hillsborough Nature Resort, Cape Hillsborough National Park

Click here for park details on My Park List
This park is approximately 40 km N of Mackay and in the NP, therefore it is really a bush park but it has powered sites. There are 2 other turn offs to the north, but the roads are narrow and winding with many pot holed areas, so the Yakapari turn off is the best. The park is not difficult to find provided you do not miss the turn off from the main highway. Ph: 07 4959 0152. No pets allowed.

Powered area has good adequate sized sites / unpowered sites not level and in need of attention. Camp Kitchen OK No Fridge. Roos on the beach at day light is a big attraction. Amenities clean and tidy but could be come stretched when camp busy. General observation is that some parts of the park need a clean up.

This was the second time we have stayed at this park. It's quiet and peaceful and well managed. The sites are a bit squeezy, but once you're in, there are no problems. The staff are helpful and the facilities are great. Close to the beach and you can go see the kangaroos at 6:30 am (if you want to get up early).

This is a very pleasant park to stay at. The park is along the beach and the size of the powered sites are quite generous. Some sites have a cement slab. There is a pool, dump point for people who use green stuff in their toilets, camp kitchens, free steel BBQ's scattered around the park. There is also a take away and they show movies on an open screen some nights. The staff were very helpful. The amenities are a bit basic but everything works well in them. Cost is $36/night for power. There is no phone or internet available at this park, but you only need to drive a short distance to get a connection. TV is available at this park as they re-broadcast it. If you want to see the kangaroos on the beach in the morning you need to go down there before day light. There are kangaroos and other wildlife in this park.
