Sandstone Park, Carnarvon National Park

Located 5 km from the start of the main walking track at the Carnarvon Gorge section of Carnarvon National Park, the entrance is located 2 km before the Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge on the right hand side. The road to Sandstone Park is sealed. Ph: 07 4984 4679. Pets allowed but not in the national park itself.

A pretty unique peaceful campground. HUGE sites all with great views, all unpowered and no water hookups. $30/night. The last couple of kms to the sites are fairly rough gravel, and there's heaps of dust. But it's so quiet and peaceful. No shops or towns nearby so stock up at Injune or Rolleston on the way in. Close to the magnificent Carnarvon Gorge with walks from 1-100km. Did I mention how peaceful it is here...

Situated on top of a huge flat hill minutes from the gorge. Amazing park. 41 enormous sites. All with amazing views. No power or water. 6 spotless portable toilets that flush and have a basin. A small basket of toiletries in each one. Kennels to put your dog in so you can visit the park. $10 a half day for this. Fire pits on each site. Can top up your water tanks on arrival. 20 cents a litre. Collect wood from property if needed and generators okay in certain hours. $28 a night.
