Reading Badger's less-than-glowing report immediately below, we went to Dalby Tourist Park. There was a festival on in town and the park was booked out. We decided to take the risk and go to Pioneer Caravan Village The barking dog/s have been removed, died of old age or run over as there is no more barking. We didn't suffer any loud music from the interspersed permanents whose choice of transport could politely be described as interesting. The pot holes in the internal roads remain. They do not dry out quickly; they are large in area but not deep. The night lighting is inadequate. The ablution blocks are huge for the size of the park but very clean. Lisa walked the small park with us and let us choose a site. At $33 and 3 km from town it was not too bad. There is no dump point but there is a public one about 100 metres down the road. Reportedly Lisa is maintaining this park solo. If so, she is doing a reasonable job but the place needs some TLC.
Very friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $33.00 for 2A. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. No rec room, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, many permanent/annual vans. No playground. Clean pool. Suitable for few days.
Disliked:- The pot holes - see above.

Receptionist was friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, that's where the lovely experience stopped. The whole park lacks TLC and basic maintenance. I tried 2 sullage pits and both overflowed due to being blocked. We had to move from the original site when I was stung (bee or wasp?) as I walked past an infested bush. Potholes in the driveways have evidently been there for years. The pool was clean but lacked regular cleaning. Usually, permanent residents in parks are friendly - nothing was friendly about any permanent in this park who ignored you and seemed to do as they damned well pleased as far as music and parking on roads was concerned. Don't like barking dogs - stay clear of here. Two dogs were almost constantly barking whenever someone or a car passed the residence - one was across from the office, but nothing was ever done about it. The amenities block was clean and spacious. We would NEVER stay here again.
