Located 15km from Home Hill this is mainly a small fishing village with the caravan park spread along the edge of the creek. Paid $164 for a week (Pay for 6 stay 7) Very friendly Owners who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Appears to be mainly frequented by people who come for the fishing and stay for lengthy periods. All sites are grassed but the park can go under water when the Burdekin River floods and the power boxes are located on poles approx. 2.5 metres off the ground which requires climbing up a ladder to connect to power. Park has a couple of bbq sheds with bbq and sink but no camp kitchen. Water pressure to sites is terrible and we used the water pump in the van most of the time. Amenities block is more of a public toilet setup with 3 pans and 2 showers. Showers are locked off and you obtain a key from the office for them when you book in. Notwithstanding this they are in a very clean condition. Due to water availability problems showers are 10c for 3 minutes but the good thing is the excellent water pressure and the hot water is hot. Park has just installed a dump point which is outside the Park next to the Fire & Rescue enclosure. There are 2 boat ramps adjacent to the park plus a good jetty for fishing. No shopping facilities or fuel supplies so stock up in Home Hill before coming out. Make sure you include plenty of insect repellent as the mossies & midges will carry you away.
