Kingaroy Showground Caravan Park, Kingaroy

Click here for park details on My Park List
1 km SW of Post Office, Youngman Street at Showgrounds. Coming from the south along the main highway (Youngman St) look for the Showgrounds sign on the left. The gate is not well signed and is a little narrow. Vans over 18ft will possibly need to move into right lane to get turning room so you may need to pull over to kerb until traffic allows this manouvre. If you have a big rig phone ahead as you are reaching town and they will open the easier gate to get in (less buildings etc) for you. Ph: 07 4162 5037. Dogs on leash.

Manager's name is Alison & Kevin.
We stayed 3 nights here and would use the park again if we were traveling through. The park is pet friendly. The park is run by volunteers and this is probably why the bins are not emptied amenities are not cleaned every day.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $25.00 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $22.50, reduced for 10% for Australian Caravan Club members. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. No rec room, no camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Walking distance to shops.
Disliked:- No dry area in showers.

Close to shops. Immaculate amenities. Very friendly people. Overpriced. 2 people powered $25.50 or 7 nights at $140.00. Very open ground suitable for all size rigs. Suggest caution on speedway nights. Would stay again

Manager's name is Council owned..
This is the local showground situated on the Bunya Highway. We were there over a weekend and Monday and whilst situated on the highway there was no noise. Easy to find. The grounds are owned by the Council, but managed by a local volunteer organisation. The reception is not always open and you find a site and come back later to pay. Being managed by volunteers, the maintenance and daily upkeep leaves a little to be desired. Garbage is not emptied daily nor are the amenities cleaned on a daily basis. The amenities are very basic. Showers are large and roomy but virtually no dry area. There Is plenty of room to park the van, but a limited number of powered sites. Having said that it was very pleasant and quite suitable for a few days. Very handy (walking distance) to shops. Suitable for a few days and I would use it again for an overnight or couple of days stay.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $25 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Poor laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, a few permanents. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Large grounds and ease of parking. Close proximity to town and shops.
Disliked:- Amenities in dire need of repair and upgrade. Lack of daily maintenance.
Parking:- Limited parking off road at reception.
