Do not accept site number 40. Its extremely difficult to enter if you're towing anything bigger than a dog kennel. Last week someone damaged multiple panels on their tow vehicle hitting the locally infamous yellow posts. NOTE, this location is in the process of leaving Top Parks so future discounts are unknown.
Friendly staff. Good value for money $38 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Paid $34.65, reduced for top parks. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Vodaphone, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean pool, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- The 2 hour free concert from The String Family (itinerant performers) was excellent.
Disliked:- The dump point is in a garden shed! On entering you are presented with a smell that will outlast taxation and a hip high concreted dump point to ensure all splashes are closer to your face. Creative!

Spacious Park. Amenities are not very close to many of the sites. Some areas of the Park have very poor night lighting. Some of the toilet and shower cubicles are very small. Some sites are either not numbered or difficult to find which makes it hard when trying to find your site in a strange Park. There are two pools. One is adults only, due to depth and the other is not suitable for many children as the shallow end is about 90cm deep. Park is going to be extended in the future and amenities are to be refurbished in September '14. There does not appear to be sullage to the sites and they say not to run it on the grass, but there are numerous trees and garden beds and if you are not lucky enough to have one of these close enough then "everyone" is running it discreetly on the ground and due to it's sandy texture it runs away very quickly. Management turn a blind eye to this practice. Yes I would return but I would try to book a site closer to the amenities.

Basic playground, in good condition. Clean pool, pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Liked:- Lovely and quiet, beach across the road. The pool was in a lovely setting but unfortunately the weather was a bit too cool.
Disliked:- The amenities were a good 100m. away which was difficult for me due to a knee injury.
Parking:- Plenty of parking at front of park
Local Information:- 6km. from Emu Park small shopping centre and 13km. from Yeppoon small town. Beach at front of Park, very tidal but good for kids and walking. Rockhampton about 40km away. Large city with everything you could need. About a kilometre or so from the Park heading south there is what looks to be a house, it I, but on closer inspection it has a small motel. Out the front is a sign "Fish & Chips" and a small blackboard advertising prawns, fish etc. The house and front verandah is actually a restaurant offering the most delicious and well priced meals. Seafood platter with chips, $17.50 plus chicken, roast and fish meals also. Make a booking.

This park is in a great location and taken over by new managers who are out and about the park all the time. the site I was originally given was very hard to get into and not really suitable to my van, I was moved to another site, which even though was all dirt/gravel was still fine and not too bad, it had a bit of cloth on the ground but it was a bit of a hazard as I nearly tripped on it, ended up putting my own ground mat down. They put me on the original site as I wanted a concrete slab for my dogs paws. they do have a few drive thru sites on it, but as it was busy and fully booked, they seemed to be longer term people on it instead. I got my dates wrong, and they didn't charge me instead moved it to the extra day. also it meant I stayed in one site for 1 night then moved, they moved my van for me, and unhitched it all, whilst I went across the beach to exercise my dogs so I didn't lose a lot of the day. they also took my fridge out and opened the windows in the van. they new managers are making an effort to please the guests. also I arrived after hours and they saw me and sent someone to help me knowing I was by myself which was just as well as the site was hard and impossible nearly I was moved to another site to remain hitched up for the night so move the following morning. It is in a great location which many off leash beaches in the area which are away from the creeks and crocodiles, and a nice drive into Rockhampton it was a great place to stay

On the surface this quite a nice park, a bit crowded in the older parts (where the slabs are) but in a nice location and with welcoming staff. However there are a couple of fairly significant downsides. The first - there are no proper sullage disposal arrangements (even in the new parts) and discharge of grey water onto grassed areas is banned as is use of in-caravan washing machines. The second - there are very unusual arrangements to cater for shower/toilet block cleaning - men share women's and vice versa and to make this worse the amenities are cleaned at seemingly random times during the day.
