We stayed here in late June, just as 10 million vans were headed to Birdsville for the Big Red Bash, as you can imagine it was busy. We managed to book ahead after finding out Charleville, Blackall and surrounding areas were booked out. It is a relatively new park and the owners are doing their best to look after caravanners. They have about 20 powered sites for $30 P/n and a huge dry camping area surrounding the Lake. Facilities are fairly basic most are mining camp type demountables with Shower/toilet combined, but when they are busy there can be a wait. The road in is quite rough and dusty, it had rained a few days before and I would imagine it was pretty slick when wet.

A great place for those that enjoy peace, quiet & nature based activities. Powered sites are near the office, camp kitchen & amenities. Informal unpowered camping with lots of room right on the lake frontage. $25/nt powered site & $15/nt unpowered. Birdlife is fantastic & excellent canoeing. A place that you end up staying at for much longer than you had planned. Highly recommended.
