Paid $26 for a powered site which is the cheapest park for a long time. All sites appear to be bitumen with a concrete annexe pad and most are drive through. This could cause a problem in the future as vanners appear to be punching a hole in the bitumen for their annexe pegs. Amenities block was spacious and very clean. There was a bbq area with bbqs and a sink which appeared to be under renovation as the shade cloth style roof had been removed. Council appear to be doing extensions to the rear of the Park. Good place to stop for a few days. There is a very informative walk up and down the main street showing the previous history of the buildings. Highway from Hughenden through Richmond to Julia Creek is very rough in places.

This park is in a lovely location but unfortunately the sites are really small and narrow. We booked ahead so we got lake views but the sites are only just wide enough for a caravan and an awning. The car is parked out the front of the caravan. If the sites were bigger it would be a lot nicer staying here. The park is close to the fossil museum which is really worth doing. The park has bitumen and cement slabs so it is not dusty. The amenities are clean. There is a BBQ area with stainless steel BBQs that has tables and chairs that overlook the lake. Council is currently expanding this park with a new unpowered camping area overlooking the lake.

Nice council park well maintained with camp kitchen/TV. The unpowered section has a nice outlook over the lake with plenty of grass but is on the smallish side even tho there are two other areas that could be used. We most certainly will be back.

Previous reports cover this park very well. Drive thru sites are narrow, with not much room to park your vehicle. Some sites have matting in annex area which is 60mm lower than surrounds and is a tripping/stumbling hazard for old farts. Road from Mt Isa is very good.

A great little park which over looks the lake. A lot of thought has been put into the design. All sites are gravel. Some have a concrete annex block. Amenities are spotless and smell clean. $26 seniors discount p/n. Friendly helpful staff. Park fills up of an afternoon. Kronosaurus Korner at the tourist info centre is well worth a vist. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
