Still a good park. Only a few changes in 12 months. Park is very busy during the winter months & you will need to book in advance to get a site. Sites 11 thru 25 are the pick sites at the back of the park overlooking the lake & away from the road/shop noise at the front of the park. Price is now $285/week 2A ensuite. Internal road have been re-leveled & tarred. Ensuites still dated & tired. Townsville has high level water restrictions but when we arrived the toilet cistern in our ensuite was running water. I turned the water off & checked the cistern flush washer which was missing. After a visit to Bunnings the next day I replaced the washer. Total cost was 20mins & about $2. I suspect that other ensuites just need a little TLC to make this a great park. Dog friendly with pleasant walkways around the lake.

Liked:- Situated next to the Lake and always a beautiful breeze.
Disliked:- Needs some TLC but horrendous drought and water restrictions .
Local Information:- Walk to Castletown Shopping Town via the Lake and only 5 mins. Lots of fast food outlets and Mercure Hotel right next door for breakfast and dinner only. This Lake supports lots of wildlife ie Pelicans, Ducks and fish do jump out. While you can fish locals advise not to eat them as waterways rather polluted at the moment.
Road Conditions:- Internal road rather broken up but OK.
