Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $30 for 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, poor water quality, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Tourist info pack provided on arrival. Fuel discount offered, dog friendly, outdoor carpeting for annex area on each site.
Disliked:- Artesian water is used throughout Winton & smells of hydrogen sulphide. Safe, but a bit off-putting. This leaves mineral stains in toilets/showers/basins & gives the appearance of being in a poor condition. While the park is dog friendly, we were advised to take the dog outside the park for ALL toileting as previous travelers had not done the right thing by their dogs in the past. But managers cats were allowed to roam throughout the park both day & night.
Parking:- Plenty of room to park on the road outside the entrance.
Local Information:- The Age of Dinosaurs tour and the Dinosaur Stampede site (90 minutes from Winton) are worth a visit. For those traveling with a dog, beware that both these attractions don't allow dogs & have no shade in the car parks.
Road Conditions:- Very good road from Longreach.

Jason & Belinda looked after myself and my two pooches like royalty. The park is grassed and its easy to access the amenities and also the dump point. Big TV at the camp kitchen facilities. The fuel discount is genuine,BUT hey don't wait till after you have been check out to get your discount, not like some caravaners tried to do. You get the discount on leaving the park. The water pressure was great, as was the power and sullage. There is also a free wifi so ask about it when you book in. Yes it works. The town is in the middle of drought and 90% of the town is on bore water,so one hint - BOIL your water before drinking it or go down to the local supermarket and get some water. The Waltzing Matilda/information centre inst open due to the fire. Overall I felt right at home there and thank Jason & Belinda for making my life so much easier for the three days I was there.

This park now has new managers, of only a couple of months. Jason and Belinda are working hard to add their own stamp on the park. Other camp reports put us off the other big park so we came straight here, Jason and his staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Each site had outdoor carpet for the annex area, I liked this, even on the few concrete slabs. A basic dump point is available. Because of slow down of the season, one of the amenities blocks was closed. The other is fairly basic though clean with soap and paper towels. I would recommend to Jason that this is an area of need for improvement. I would stay here anytime, suited us fine. The attractions of Winton, made this a well worth while stopover. $30 pn 2 adults, power and water.
