We stayed here 14 years ago. Sites were very cramped, but notice the sites have increased and some are larger for big vans. Locality to the main shopping street - no need to used vehicle. Washing Machines at Opal Inn are 4 x $1.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $35.00 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Paid $27.50, reduced for 4 night special $110. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, no sites with annex slabs, no sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, basic camp kitchen, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, claustrophobic park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Dirty UC electric BBQs, dismal bbq area atmosphere, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. $25 p/n 2 people of $140 for 7 nights. Behind the motel which has pub and bistro. Most sites drive through and gravel. Newish and very clean amenities. 20c for 4 mins for shower. Tank water for drinking. NO kitchen despite an area for tents etc - very bad. Don't eat at Chinese restaurant - overpriced and bad tasting. Motel bistro good but a little overpriced. Staff at motel are very friendly and helpful. Great pizza and lasagna at Johns Restaurant. Shop at IGA - more food and fresher rather than the other by PO. Dry area so have to produce d/license when buying alcohol from liquor shops. Shell servo very new - $2 for hot showers, very upmarket restaurant and menu. Its next door to this CP and opposite is public dump point and buy water for 20c for 30 litres
