A good, generally basic park, undergoing some good improvements. Price of $27 powered site or $20 unpowered. A new amenities block is being built but I found the older one okay. Water pressure and temp were okay. Free dump point. An excellent camp kitchen - one of the best I have seen. Campfire area with wood supplied. Powered sites all have matting, and power and water, and some with sullage. Easy 10-minute walk to the Railway Hotel which had great meals and cold beer. 30 min drive to Port Pirie.

Currently lots of road noise due to harvesting, but quiet overnight.
Very friendly staff, no complaints. Good value for money $25 for 2A PN, shoulder season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Great little park away from the maddening coastal crowds.
Disliked:- Feral family staying there, two feral kids, 3 noisy dogs, 1 cat ! the younger boy was very invasive of other sites and became a real annoyance. They were still screaming and yelling behind our van at 9-00pm.
Local Information:- Great new coffee shop in town, in old bank building, totally renovated and good outside sitting area, dog friendly too. Good bakery with excellent pies and pasties.
Road Conditions:- good

This small park offers good value for money at $25/ night (2A,pwd site). It is set between Crystal Brook's main road and a railway line 3 minutes walk away. Both are busy during the day but quieten down at night. The creek runs down the length of the park although it was dry during our stay. For hikers, the Heysen Trail is accessed through the back gateway. Large gums provide shade for many of the gravel and shade cloth sites. Sites are roomy and level. The grounds are kept spick and span by the very approachable caretaker. Amenities are old and small but kept clean. A camp kitchen and bbq across the creek from the main part of the park are serviceable. The only negative is the access to the amenities, up a dirt ramp or set of steps. Definitely not wheelchair friendly. For bird lovers there is a little Murray magpie that spends all day admiring himself in car mirrors or tapping his beak on caravan windows.

There has been more work done in the park since I was there in December 2013 . More stone has been spread on all sites . I was in the park for a week and had quite heavy rain and there was no problems with mud in any of the powered sites . The main amenity block is situated on a rise with low rise steps which have been added since December .There are male and female toilets at one end of the powered sites . The community has done a lot of work in the last few months painting the mesh fence beside the road leading into the park and sprucing up the tables and seats scattered around the park . Landscaping of the park has also commenced .
