Great open park in bush-land setting beside the Murray River. Plenty of area to walk the dog here. Going by the water marks on some of the buildings it had been through a good size flood, which explains the upmarket amenity block.

Liked:- The Solitude.
Disliked:- Showers. the hot water was on a timer. It would have been adequate time, except for the fact it took half the allocated time to actually get hot, then more time getting it right between being boiled alive and then frozen. We were so lucky it was summer. Just enough time under the water to soap up, then without warning... cold. I really hate that.
Parking:- No
Road Conditions:- Easy. good roads.

Not your usual Big4 park. No bells and whistles ( good I think ). 2 sections, top section up near the Reception plus cabins, bottom section is in a lovely bush setting. Murray River 200m away. A few permanents down here, but absolutely no probs. They are in their own row and have no impact on tourists. Plenty of site choices down here, ask if you can choose your own, or change what is allocated. I am not sure why you arn't just given free reign to choose as there is heaps of room. Bit of a way into town, probably a 25 minute walk, there is a path to follow. The Historical Village is well worth a visit but is in dire financial straits..re whether it will continue to operate. A community meeting was scheduled 2 days after we left. I hope it survives. Loxton is quite a pleasant little town and has a pretty good vibe to it. No river cruises depart from here unfortunately, but the CP is a very peaceful place to stay.
