Fine powdered quartz like material covers the ground in all sites ensuring a hard surface in wet and dry weather. It also ensures that it will be carried into the van on shoes. new looking equipment filled the laundry. Penong appears to be the last bastion of civilization before you have a crack at the Nullabor.
Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $37 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available. carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- The stainless steel benches and small barbeques in the kitchen were immaculately clean. The whole kitchen area was maintained to a high standard and pleasant to use. Appliances were available for use. Tables were clean and adequate. Take note many other parks.
Disliked:- $37 is a bit expensive for very clean but rudimentary facilities...but there is no competition.
Local Information:- It's a 300 metre short cut to the only pub for meals.

A pleasant park for a short stopover and to consider if wanting to regulate your trip from Ceduna and across the Nullarbor or vice versa. Well run and friendly manager/owner. Good lighting, roomy (we were the only ones there), facilities/amenities clean. Little/no shade. Water and sullage good. Windmill museum adjacent to park is of interest. A short walk to hotel for meals if that is required (we didn't so cannot comment on quality). Plenty of room to exercise the dog if you have one. Would stay again. Good value at $30pn powered site.
