Small camping area very close to the beach , restriction on number of sites available, owner ensures that there is plenty of space between vans. Used to be occupied by cabins but they were destroyed in the Dunally bush fires so site is now strictly vans and motor-homes. Advisable to book prior to arriving due to small number [9] sites available.
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site. Very good value for money $15 for 2A PN, unpowered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, no sites are shaded, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, dump point, van parking, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Noisy, open & roomy park. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Liked:- Only DOG FRIENDLY park in region close to Fredrick Henry Bay beach, close to excellent bakery and hotel in nearby Dunally.
Disliked:- Exposed to weather ie wind and the soil can become muddy in wet weather. Right on the Tasman Highway on route to Port Arthur so large amount of passing traffic noise.
Parking:- Plenty of parking when checking in.
Local Information:- On route to Port Arthur historical site. Another free camping site with no facilities behind Dunally hotel, Bakery/ Coffe shop, fish market, oyster shacks, general store, service station.
Road Conditions:- Park located on the Tasman highway.
