The caravan park is attached to the resort which is their main business, so the advertised pool is a bit of a trudge back to the lodge and into the "resort" area. Heaps of level sites around a massive amenity block. $52 is a rip-off but there are few alternatives in this neck of woods if you don't want trouble from locals in parks in other towns along this stretch. Heaps of roos around in the morning for a "photo shoot". There is a pricey restaurant in the lodge section but we did not partake of it, because of the "pricey" bit.

$50.00 per night powered for 2 adults. We have not stayed here for a couple of years and the park has gone down hill since then. Only 1 amenities block open. Amenities were never cleaned properly. They need a good scrub. The hot water was never hot. Petrol is not sold here anymore. The restaurant was very overpriced not good value. This was a great park but not anymore.

Fitzroy River Lodge is a resort, camp ground, caravan park, discount petrol station and a restaurant all on the one location. It's too far to walk into town. The restaurant is not over priced and the food is good. Ventilation was poor in the amenities with multiple showers on. Although they have some devices for disability the amenities are on a steep hillock and I suspect the inclination is too steep for wheeling a chair.
Friendly staff. Good value for money $47.00 for 2A PN. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic camp kitchen, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No playground. Clean pool, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Parking:- Plenty of room. Seven rigs can line up....and do.
Local Information:- Geikie Gorge cruise (20km) at $35.00 concession is well worth the money. Exceptional close up scenery.
