This is an old caravan park, with roomy sites under shady peppermint trees. Many sites have the sand stabilised by pinned shadecloth. Top Tourist Parks member. Gracetown Caravan Park is accessed from Cowaramup Bay Road, not far from Caves Road. Gracetown Beach on Cowaramup Bay is a further three kilometres, and it is fourteen kilometres to Margaret River from Gracetown Caravan Park. Old amenities block well maintained, freshly painted and kept clean. Showers cubicles small but well designed. Walls to floor so no splash or run-off into adjoining cubicles. Shower head facing inwards from the dressing cubicle division wall and a step down into the shower using different coloured tiles to avoid tripping, keeping the dressing cubicle floor dry. Rubber mat provided, shelf and two hooks. Inward opening doors on toilets and showers. Water hot at all times. Good mirrors. Power points at hand basins for shavers or hairdryers. Hand wash and hot air hand dryer. Water limited to maximum five minute showers by request. Water supply is from a dam on the property, and is fully treated on site to produce a good quality potable water. No washing cars, boats or caravans. Laundry with three washing machines at $4 per load, two dryers and three hoists. Ironing board, with iron for hire from office. Power outlets, taps and sullage pit central point between each four sites. Need adequate length power cord and sullage hoses.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $35 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $30, reduced for 7 nights pay for 6. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, secure entry, book swap available, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra. Quiet, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground, in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Quiet and bushland setting. Dry shower cubicles and mat provided. Friendly and helpful reception.
Disliked:- No pets (due to adjoining national park and visiting wildlife). No disability access bathroom (this is planned for next upgrade). No dump point (speak to office staff about alternatives). Many sites difficult to manoeuvre large rigs into.
Parking:- Adequate room, plus visitor car park.
Added Touches:- Family friendly with mini gold course, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. Playground for younger children. Bouncy castle and waterslide during summer school holidays. Outdoor movie screen with movies shown two nights per week, excluding winter months. Bring your own chairs.
Local Information:- Centrally located in the Leeuwin Naturaliste region for visiting some of the 75 surf breaks, as well as caves and forests. Numerous wineries and boutique breweries, with top class dining at many of these and other restaurants. Centrally located to visit the caves of the Leeuwin Naturaliste karst. Visit an olive farm, venison farm, chocolate factory, nougat manufacturer, honey producers, cheese and yoghurt makers and many other treats.
