Having been scared off by the appearance of the caravan park in Meekatharra, we were happily surprised to park on a grassed and perfectly flat site about 60 km north at Karalundi. There are now at least 20 sites available and they are better marked than they apparently once were. This place is connected to a closed community which is a boarding school for 40 indigenous high school kids. The staff in association with the Seventh Day Adventist Church are doing a great job. The drinking water is exceptional as it is pumped from a bore, desalinated and reverse osmosis filtered. The process is expensive so use it but please don't waste it. Because the place is SDA alcohol and nicotine are not permitted. There are no dryers in the laundry. Sites are very long so you can stay hitched up but you may need to reverse into some sites.
Very friendly staff. Very good value for money $35.00 for 2A PN. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, kiosk. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter, well maintained park.
Liked:- They bothered to grow good grass on all sites showing that it can be done in this climate.
Parking:- Tons of room.
