The park was nicely grassed, the power heads were old and a few did not work. This would have been a nice park but is let down by the amenities. They are old and not very appealing. They give the impression of not being cleaned although I observed the owner cleaning them. The owner comes each evening to check on the park and collect the rent.

Tas, Mount Field National Park, Left of Field Caravan Park

Date of Stay: March 2016 Rating: 3
Manager's name is Adrian.
This is a camp ground rather than a caravan park. It is located on a slightly sloping area. The sites are medium to large and well separated from each other with gardens and other features. Words description of the park would be "quirky" or "rustic." There are water taps to many of the sites. The electrical power is currently jury rigged but they are in the process of installing power heads. The park is advertised for self contained vehicles as there are no permanent showers (the council will not allow Adrian to install any due lack of adequate water supply volume. However there are a couple of portable tents with gas hot water showers.) There are two WC cubicles in a building at the bottom of the park with 2 dump points for potties. Plenty of wood and portable fireplaces are available.
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $25 for 2A PN, powered. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Dump point, van parking, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Liked:- The way things have been laid out (left of field.)
Added Touches:- Fresh vegetables supplied by local grower with honesty box payment.
Local Information:- Good location for exploring things west of New Norfolk. These include Lake Pedder, Gordon River & Dam, Styx River and Mt Field National Park.
Road Conditions:- Good two land bitumen road from New Norfolk or near Ouse.
