ACT, Canberra, Canberra Park

Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $55 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $39.29, reduced for Stay 7 nights, pay 5 nights. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, no sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry, book swap available, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- New park (couple of months)
Disliked:- No established trees. Ventilation in the amenities is poor, however, the manager says that is being looked into. He is asking people for suggestions for improvements. Some have asked for a caddy in the showers to hold small items, that is also being investigated. I pointed out the lack of towel rings or rails at the hand basins and that is now under consideration.
Added Touches:- Excellent facilities in the camp kitchen. Soap dispensers in showers.
Local Information:- Easy walk to the EPIC markets on Saturday morning. Buses within easy walking.

Qld, Winton, Tattersalls Hotel Van Park

Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $30.00 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers. Basic laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- In town good location, across the side street from the Tattersalls Hotel (good well priced menu.) Large flat sites with green grass in the awning area. It is a new park built in the last 10 years.
Disliked:- Roads dusty

Qld, Normanton, Gulfland Motel Caravan Park

Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $32.00 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No playground. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- Good size sites with tap/power handy. It's an excellent park for those who own van and ignore the amenities bock.use the ensuite in their
Disliked:- Lousy amenities block, made with rusty corrugated iron. The showers were medium size plastic cubicle. These face into a common drying area. Two of them faced each other with a flattened piece of ridge capping forming a stub wall between them about half a metre gap away from the cubicle. The drying area has no privacy and part of it is viewable from the door of the block. - The navigator says we will not be back.
Added Touches:- Good restaurant at the motel.
Local Information:- We stayed there to ride the Gulflander train.
Road Conditions:- Good bitumen in from the Atherton Table Land and Cloncurry, although some of it is single lane bitumen.

NSW, Mungindi, Mungindi Caravan Park

The park was nicely grassed, the power heads were old and a few did not work. This would have been a nice park but is let down by the amenities. They are old and not very appealing. They give the impression of not being cleaned although I observed the owner cleaning them. The owner comes each evening to check on the park and collect the rent.

Mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Poor laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, a few permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.

Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, very few sites are shaded, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good rec room, good camp kitchen, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Local Information:- Park is opposite the Big Rig and tourist info centre.The Big Rig tells the story of gas & oil exploration in the area (the start of the Oz oil industry.) There is also a night show that is well worth while.

Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, basic camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Handy park in town. There were 4 back to back sites where first in could drive through
Local Information:- Cob & Co museum was interesting. River walk with interpretative signs (concrete paved.) Good meals at the pub. Handy shops, both grocery shops doubled up as the local coffee shops.

Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Open & roomy park. Clean UC electric BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.

The park is now Gateway Lifestyle Casino, it is one of 49 residential parks owned by the group and one of the two dozen that has a caravan section.

Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry, book swap available, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5.
