WA, Albany, Albany Gardens Holiday Park

Date of Stay: May 2017 Rating: 4.5
This park is still well maintained and managed. All sites are large and drive through with concrete pads. Plenty of green grass and shady trees. Current low season deal is stay 7 pay for 5. Our ensuite site was $235 for 7 nights. Very good value at this price. Plenty to see and do in and around Albany. Suitable for any length stay.

Powered site $36 pn after discount. Very small sites. Our site was so narrow that we couldn't park our vehicle (standard size 4wd) across the site without encroaching on neighbouring sites. Amenities were clean and quite new. Didn't see the older amenities block. Parts of the park (where we were) had no lighting at all except for just outside the amenities. Quite disappointed with the standards of this Big4. Their only concern seems to be squeezing in as many vans as possible.

This is now a member of Family Parks. Good value at $25 pn powered before discount. Many improvements have been made recently. New power posts at all sites. The sites are better defined than they were, which makes it easier to determine the boundaries of each. Pay at motel and select site yourself. The amenities are clean and functional. $1 for 5 minute shower. Camp kitchen well equipped and additional barbecues within the park. There is a pool (seasonal) behind the motel for all guests including the caravan park. At the back of the restaurant there is a pleasant garden area with seating, also for all guests. This park is definitely far superior to any of the other parks on the Nullabor.

Ensuite site $41.40 pn after Big4 discount. Ensuite small but functional. Large camp kitchen. Playground, pool and jumping pillow. Very disappointed with the condition of most of the ensuite sites. They have a shade cloth type pad, surrounded by bare dirt which becomes a mud bath after any rain. We were sloshing around in several inches of mud every time we walked off the shade cloth area. All the powered sites were grass or blue metal, no mud.

Vic, Charlton, Charlton Travellers Rest Ensuite Caravan Park

We can only agree with all previous contributors; great value at $28 pn ensuite. The ensuite is as good as or better than many which are $20 more expensive. TV aerial supplied with ensuite. Best for the price that we have found and we will certainly stay again. Highly recommended.

SA, Mount Barker, Mount Barker Caravan And Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2016 Rating: 3.5
Mt Barker council owned park. This park has improved a lot over the years. Good value for money at $33 pn powered. Both amenity blocks are thoroughly cleaned daily. The older block has no shower curtains or partial dividing walls so the entire floor is very wet. Congenial and clean barbecue areas. Staff are friendly and helpful, responding to and sorting out a noise complaint very quickly. Conveniently located to Hahndorf and straightforward access to Adelaide. Suitable for any length stay.
