Qld, Maryborough, Cheery Nomad RV Park and Farmstay

This park was opened in Nov. 2014. Handy to Hervey Bay and surrounding areas. Facilities are unisex, single units,both shower and toilets.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $24 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Nice and quiet. Away from Main Roads
Disliked:- Lack of shade at present, but brand new and lots of young trees around.
Parking:- Plenty
Added Touches:- Sausage sizzle in peak times (school hols. etc)
Local Information:- Maryborough sports club about 2 ks.away
Road Conditions:- Narrow into park but sealed.

Quite open Caravan Park, in a small town suffering a downturn like many others.
Very friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $22 for 2A P/N, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, soap provided, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motor homes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, poor water quality, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, late checkout allowed, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile, wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanents. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Local swimming pool next door.
Disliked:- No drinking water to sites. Water available from rainwater tank near facilities.
Parking:- Ring local General store on arrival. Phone numbers at gate of park. Find a spot and they catch up with you later in the day.
Added Touches:- Kiosk can be opened for large groups on request with notice.
Local Information:- Pub,general store ,fuel about about 1 k from park.
Road Conditions:- Good .

NSW, Gloucester, Gloucester Holiday Park

Manager's name is Wendy Hill. Nice open park. Only downsides was excessive dogs (from Permanents) and poor amenities cleaning. Friendly staff. Reasonable value for money ($31.50 2A PN, powered, off-peak season). We paid $28 because of CMCA discount. Amenities are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, basic rec room, basic camp kitchen, disabled facilities, dump point, van parking, book swap available, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Noisy, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, many permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free). Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Location. Local swimming pool outside gate,playground close by. 300m to shopping. Heaps of cafes and local Info centre
Disliked:- Some permanents dogs barking too much.Poor cleaning of amenities.
Parking:- Room for 2 vans outside reception
Added Touches:- Contained fires in non fireban season.
Local Information:- Trips to Barrington Tops and area
Road Conditions:- Good.

Qld, Sunshine Coast, BIG4 Forest Glen Holiday Resort - Forest Glen

Manager's name is Leanne. Lovely green open park. Special deal for seniors ( off season) $231 a week. No extra discount for BIG4 members on top of that. Usual BIG4 playgrounds, jump castle etc. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($43 2A PN, off-peak season). We paid $33 because of Seniors discount. Usual discounts for BIG4 members. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, kiosk, dump point, van parking, book swap available, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents. Clean UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Lovely outlook, very well maintained park.
Disliked:- Sight a bit squeeze to get into with larger van, especially if park is busy,(my opinion). Could do with better signage outside park gates, very easy to miss.
Parking:- Plenty of room outside reception.
Added Touches:- Kids activities in peak season and outdoor theatre.
Local Information:- Nearby to Ettamoga pub and Aussieworld.
Road Conditions:- Roads all sealed.

Liked:- Very friendly and helpful managers.
Disliked:- Ground was very hard down the back of park (our choice) and difficult to hammer in pegs for tie downs.
Parking:- 1 van area opposite reception.

Local Information:- good Mud-crabbing and fishing area.

Manager's name is Lionel & Carroll. Nice small tropical style park generally peaceful, lots of birds (including chooks.) Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money, $25 2A, powered because of Stay 7 pay for 6. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Liked:- Generally Quite, lots of bird life
Disliked:- Idiots speeding through park, usually whizz-bang's and campers. A couple of large speed bumps would do the trick. No dump point, nearest one in Atherton
Parking:- Park out front off office
Local Information:- Lake Eacham 1k up road, for swimming and picnic etc. Lovely spot. Yungaburra has very good market last sat. of month. Atherton about 22 km. away.
Road Conditions:- All local roads sealed

Normally pet friendly Manager's name is Tony & Dawn. Tony & Dawn have taken over this park about 18 months ago and have put a huge amount of hard work and improvements in, e.g. camp kitchen, new amenity block. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money. We paid $26 2A, powered, because of stay 7 pay for 5. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Local Information:- Tavern next door with cheap meals. Foodworks supermarket about 200m away. Millmerran Camp Oven Festival every 2 yrs. Great event.

Manager's name is Troy & Idalia. Park has recently been taken over by new owners/managers (3 months) after years of neglect, and has improved out of sight since our last visit in 2006. More work underway. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice. Good value for money ($25 2A PN, powered, because of stay 7, pay for 6 nights). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Disliked:- Freight train line nearby, but only 2 trains per day.
Parking:- Plenty of room

Local Information:- fishing and camping at nearby Lake Coolmunda. Nice picnic area about 500m from park.

Liked:- Very friendly and helpful. Andrew and Sherrie have been here 10 months.
Disliked:- Some of the workers (fruit pickers) were a bit noisy early in morning (grey nomads old enough to know better?)
Parking:- Room for about 2 or 3 vans next to booking office.
Added Touches:- Small fires allowed on site. Firetubs and wood supplied on request.
Local Information:- Fisho selling local coastal fish visits Fridays around 5.30pm.
Road Conditions:- Roads around area are sealed.
