WA, Point Samson, The Cove Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 4.5
This is a really lovely park, the amenities are excellent, the shower recesses are large and comfortable, lots of hot water, camp kitchen is really good, very large and not outdoors but in the centre of the park next to the amenities block. We paid $49.50 per night, television reception is minimal, suggest an amplifier for your TV aerial, though there is a very big TV room with a large screen available next to the camp kitchen. All sites are hard stands and a Car/Caravan wash area, coin operated. No tourist information offered. Worth a visit, lovely coastline and the historic town of Cossack nearby, and 40k back to Karratha. Book ahead in busy months.

WA, Pardoo, Pardoo Roadhouse Caravan Facilty

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 1.5
We paid $30 for the night. Powered sites and non powered all are good green grassed areas. Power and water, but the water pressure isn't all that good. The amenities are of the 'donga' type, adequate but red dust stained, the laundry is quite dirty, the sink hasn't seen a scrub for years, but we will stay again.

WA, Derby, Kimberley Entrance Caravan Park

A pleasant stay, lots of hot water in the amenities, good water pressure, level large powered and non powered sites, easy access. Very busy park, so book ahead. $42 a night. Would stay again.

WA, Broome, Broome Caravan Park

Enjoyed our stay here, always stay at this park. The amenity blocks are sufficient, lots of hot water, the owners seem to be doing some work in the amenity block and a new one at the back of the park, always busy during June, July and August, book ahead, though have always found the staff extremely helpful with bookings. Nice big pool if you are a swimmer, reasonable sites, do have some hard stands, this park is situated next to the speedway so if you are there on Friday night be prepared for some noise. Remember in the Kimberley use personal insecticide because the sand flies can be a little busy.

We stayed here as an overnighter. $30 fee per night. Amenity block is a disgrace, broken tiles, in showers, bits missing and filthy. Locks on the toilets don't work. There is a mining camp behind though not a problem. Electricity and water, but that's about it.

WA, Carnarvon, Wintersun Caravan And Tourist Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 4.5
The Wintersun is a really lovely park, the owners have put in a great effort. Pet friendly at the owners discretion. Both Amenities blocks have been modernised, plenty of hot water, (though at this time the pressure was a little low,) grassed areas, activities and a sausage sizzle on Thursday nights. Most important to remember to book, as being a Top Tourist Park can be very busy. Through June, July and August the lawn bowlers are there. At times the bowlers can be very 'possessive' of the park, with disregard for other visitors. Though the owners do point out the error of their ways. All visitors to the park are advised that they are welcome to join in with the bowling. We have been continuous visitors this park since the early 70's and will definitely come again. Have stayed at a few other parks in Carnarvon but end up back at the Wintersun. There is a Dump Point and a fish cleaning area at the back of the park past the bowling green.

WA, Northampton, True Blue Northampton Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 3.5
Graeme the manager has improved this park over the past few years, the amenity block is clean and lots of hot water, camp kitchen, bbq. Has a Bali hut to loll around in, long bays so you don't have to unhook if you don't want to. Laundry facilities. No Pool or playground, but suitable for a week or so. We stay here when traveling north in preference to Geraldton - only down side is the noise from the road. $30 a night. Shopping near by, Visitors Centre. Nice town. (Just on a by from our previous reports on Northampton, little black Billie, the poodle who we always looked forward to seeing passed away on 21 July, 2014, he was 17 years old. Will miss him)

Ring the bell if no one in attendance, very cheerful man greeted us, chose our own site. Ablution block very clean, ample facilities, lots of hot water, very clean. Sites mostly level, free BBQ area undercover. Bit of noise from trucks on the highway, but not as bad as some we've stayed in. We paid $26 for the night and consider it very good value.

We aren't in the habit of being really critical about Caravan Parks, but on this occasion feel it warranted. We have always stayed at this park which would be maybe twice a year since 2009. We have seen it slowly go backwards, we have been told "we are doing 'work'" all these years. Unfortunately the ablution's in the ladies and men's, both had soap scum from the taps and down the walls, obviously hadn't been sprayed or cleaned of for some time. The red back spiders in the bottom hinges in the ladies were a bit of a bother. Management were informed of this on our previous visit which was 6 weeks before, but they were still there! This is a real shame as these ablutions were some of the best in Australia. The sites are not defined, enough, sort of higgle piggle, and very dusty, no concrete slabs, or even cloth. There is a swimming pool, not large though. At $43 a night, consider this not good value for money, we are BIG4 members so we paid $37.40. The washing machines, when the lid was lifted were dirty. The laundry sinks had soap scum as well, there was also dirt between the washing machines that had obviously not been swept for months. I watched the cleaner do his job, which was a bit of flick around with a tea towel, and the towel wasn't even wet. He didn't bother with the sinks. I'm afraid won't be staying there again.

Very friendly greeting when we arrived, very obliging staff. The 2 ablution blocks are really clean, plenty of hot water, soap, hand dryer. Undercover BBQ area and camp kitchen. Reasonably level sites, ours was, gravel or blue metal, some on grass. As an older traveller we were very happy, a 10 minute drive across to Hahndorf, 20 minutes to Adelaide. Central Markets are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, NOT Sunday. Markets at Port Adelaide on Sunday and Public holidays.
