Qld, Biloela, Boomerang Caravan Park

Date of Stay: October 2021 Rating: 3.5
This is a fairly small park with a few permanents, The new Managers Jenny and Des are doing their best to lift this overall appearance. The amenities are quite old and tired but they are well maintained and clean. There is a pool, BBQ area and mostly grassed sites. At $30 P/N for 2 power and water the rates are reasonable for the area although we did have some issues with power supply Jenny assured me this would be corrected. Overall, this park is OK for a few nights and there are some interesting places to visit in the area.

Qld, Mackay, Aarons Central Tourist Park

Date of Stay: October 2021 Rating: 3
This park is getting quite old and tired, it really needs a facelift. The toilets are showing signs of disrepair and lack of maintenance. It is a great location with easy access to the city and a couple of major shopping centres. Rates are quite reasonable at $30 P/N for a powered site or pay for 2 and stay for 3 which works out at $20 P/N. It is a open and roomy park and you get to pick your own site which I think is a bonus, although there are a lot of on site cabins that appear to be semi permanent with seasonal workers. If you dont want the bells and whistles this park suits.

This park is located in town right next door to the free pool and water park. I think they have the cleanest amenities I have ever experienced. They are a credit to the cleaning staff. They are currently in the process of further upgrading the toilets, although I dont think they need it.

Qld, Townsville, Coral Coast Tourist Park - Garbutt

This park is in a good location to light and heavy industrial areas of Townsville and close to the city centre. The only downside is the aircraft noise as it is right next to the airport, RAAF Base and Army Aviation Base so you get choppers, commercial aircraft and RAAF aircraft continually coming and going.

Qld, Rockhampton - Midgee, Kangaroo Country Caravan Park

Date of Stay: October 2021 Rating: 2
Pretty disappointed in this park, you can see that someone made some effort quite a few years back, but it has since started to deteriorate. The amenities need refurbishment and the water pressure at the sites is poor. It seems to cater for a few permanents. All tourist sites are located right at the front of the park near the highway and railway, if you dont mind the noise ALL night it will be OK. The cost is $30 P/N for 2 with power and water and it will accommodate most larger vans. For my money I will stay in Rocky next time.

Qld, Mareeba, Kerribee Park Camping Grounds

Date of Stay: September 2021 Rating: 3.5
This park is located about 3 Ks from town on the Wheelbarrow Way. It is a huge area and can accommodate about 200 vans with power and water and any number without. $25 P/N for 2 with Power and Water. Well maintained facilities are close to some sites, with a dump point. At the time we were there, it was quiet and roomy, but I think it could be a different story when it is busy. If you are there for a Friday night they do a fairly decent choice of Fish and Chips at a reasonable price. Pets are permitted and there is plenty of room to exercise. There are also horse holding yards nearby. The volunteer staff all do a terrific job and are very friendly and helpful. Mareeba offer good shopping with the opportunity to stock up prior to heading north. (Coles, IGA, etc.)

Qld, Townsville, Black River Stadium - Black River

Date of Stay: August 2021 Rating: 4.5
This park is located a fair bit out of town, but that can be a good thing. It is an over 50s park and very quiet but well run and plenty of entertainment and social. Prices are reasonable and weekly/monthly rates are very good. A spacious park, with clean amenities and friendly staff.

Qld, Ravenshoe, Ravenshoe Railway Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2021 Rating: 4
Not much has changed at this park since the last report except the prices, It is now $20 p/n for a powered site and $15 p/n for unpowered. Still excellent value for money. Some sites are a little cosy, but generally they will do their best to accommodate you. It is an easy work to town and 2 supermarkets, 2 pubs and the usual assortment of small shops. On Thursdays they have live music on the station platform, unfortunately the train is not running any longer.
