This park is a nice quiet caravan park , easy to get the van in, slabs to each site , The amenities are clean, they are at one end of the park, the caretaker gives you a key. We paid $180 a week,[ stay 7 pay 6] or $30 per night. It is worth staying for a week. The caretaker [ Gary ] does not live on site , but he is in & out of the park a few times a day. There is also a dump spot in the park . A nice place to visit , like to patronise the small towns, Balaklava has everything you need re shopping , nice place to spend some time. Would stay again .

Not sure what is gong on with this park , we intended to stay over night but when we got there, there was a sign on the door which said ''closed Monday Tues & Wed. . the whole place looked neglected, pity because we like to patronise the small places ,

We have stayed at this park numerous times over the years , this time we only stayed a week after staying at the Oasis van park near Palmerstone . This park we still think is far better than the other we stayed in. The only reason we didn't come to Lee Point in the first place was the price---$300 plus power a week so we chose the Oasis at $245 incl. power . I t was easy to get a site as it was only about a third full, very unusual fo July & August . Apart from the ensuites still being the same the park has had a lot of cleaning up done .It's a pity prices keep rising up as it is getting that caravaners soon won't be able to afford it . I have noticed that people aren't staying as long , which is sad as Darwin is a great place .

we usually go to Lee Point van park, but as this park was cheaper, we thought we'd give it a try . The managers were friendly and thankfully helped us onto the site, as they were fairly difficult to get into. The park slopes downhill so one side of the van needed to be raised quite a bit , all cars must be parked in front of the vans as there is no room on the sides as the vans are quite close together, The amenities were clean but as the park was full there were not enough of them . Beware when the ride on mower is being used as great piles of dust cover vans and washing if you have your own line . Probably wouldn't stay at this park again, it is only popular as it is a 'dog 'park

This is a nice park, have stayed numerous times, it is getting more popular now which is taking it's toll on the amenities, they needed a good clean and the toilets were needing plumbing attention. Some of the sites were water-logged so it was a bit hard to find a dry one, but on saying that, it was nice & green. Cost is now $28 per night, still with the free glass of wine and beer, good P.R.

New management, the owner of G'day Mate t/park has just bought it. The park is good, amenities good, has some drive thru sites with slabs $29 per night . The only negative is it gets noisy on the street with people shouting etc. at night but this doesn't last long, but the park is reasonably secure & well lit up at night.

We have been in two other parks in Mt. Isa, this one is better. There are plenty of slabs, amenities are good. You can use phone & internet o.k. We paid $29.70 per night, [10% pensioner disc.] it would have been nice if the managers were a bit more welcoming, but I guess they are tired after a busy tourist season. All in all a good park & we will come to this one again.

Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints. Poor value for money $189.00 for 2A PW, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is bad / Variable pressure experienced, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 2. Noisy, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- Slab & grass.
Disliked:- Noise from coal trains day and night, not too good if you have trouble sleeping. Being on the Bruce highway, consistent noise from trucks as well.
Local Information:- About 10 kms from Rockhampton and Gracemere.
Road Conditions:- Good.
