Qld, Roma, Ups N Downs Farm Stay

Date of Stay: August 2017 Rating: 3.5
Manager's name is Tania
This is a working farm only 5 klm's north of Roma set on 200 acres. Powered and unpowered sites available with good bore water connection. Friendly welcome from owner and the camp ground hosts. There are 4 ensuite style shower & toilet cubicles. All spotless. There is a large camp kitchen with plenty of sitting room and showcasing the owners metal sculpture talent. There is a resident pet pig named Sideways who will pay you a visit as he thinks he is a dog. All part of the atmosphere we feel. Daily happy hour around the camp fire. Easy backing onto the dirt sites. No grass but this is to be expected out west.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Very good value for money $25.00 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good camp kitchen, book swap available, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Clean UC BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families.
Liked:- Nice atmosphere and can walk around the property and see their many different animals. Easy sites for backing and can stay hitched up if needed. Site size is generous.
Parking:- Plenty of room to park. Stop at information bay & collect self check in form if owners out. Can set up and pay at happy hour.

NT, Tobermorey, Tobermorey Station

Date of Stay: April 2017 Rating: 2
Nice grassed campground with basic amenities which were clean. Went to have a shower in the morning and water was off due to a burst pipe. Fixed after 40 mins. No power or water available at site. Coin washing machine there and clothes line. Diesel available 2.00 a litre. Camp fees 25 dollars p.n. We took our dirt road caravan over The Plenty but regret it as too corrugated and rocky on NT side. Camper Trailers would be ok.

If you are after an easy no frills place to stay in transit or rest for a few days this is it. Amenities could be better and there is no laundry being a showground but the price is good and it is all relaxed and easy. Manager went out of his way to help with a parking problem we had.

QLD, Theodore, Theodore Showground

Date of Stay: August 2016 Rating: 3
We have just had an enjoyable stay at this showground for the great price of 75.00 dollars a week with power, water and amenities. Nightly rate of 15.00 dollars power. A guy drives around about 4.00 pm to collect the fees. Showers were hot and amenities cleaned daily. There are two different areas to camp in the grounds both with amenities. Not all sites were close to amenities but it was acceptable. At night some trucks stop outside the showgrounds on edge of main road to rest wihich could bother some if you are too close. Theodore is a great little town so good to support them. Good meals at hotel as well as the cafe on the corner. IGA in town not bad. Ask at Tourist Info Centre about some local Tourist drives. We visited the historic Flagstone Road as well as some old bridges built by POW'S during WW2.

Have stayed at this park several times before and feel it has deteriorated. Poorly maintained amenities in the block we used at the bottom of the park. WA, Geraldton, Belair Gardens Caravan Park

Date of Stay: June 2015 Rating: 2.5
We did not enjoy our stay at this park due to its location beside the port. There was very loud train shunting throughout each night which made proper sleep difficult. We were given a site among the large permanent population who were no problem. Amenities were clean but a long walk from our site. We paid 31.00 with Top Tourist discount. Would not stay again due to the unacceptable noise through the night. A shame for the park in terms of a bad location.

WA, Ravensthorpe, Green Haven Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2015 Rating: 1.5
Manager's name is Clare
We found this park to be quite run down with very old vans dotted around the place. It had an air of neglect about it. Little evidence of the planned improvements mentioned in the notice in the laundry placed by the owner a few years back. One old small amenity block which was very basic and my shower drain was quite blocked. The other block had ensuites which were all locked up bar one in spite of the park being busy. While clean the amenities were below par. The camp kitchen also was below par.
Average staff friendliness. Poor value for money $30.00 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $27.00, reduced for Seniors discount. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans.
Liked:- Close to town
Disliked:- My pet hates regarding poor hygiene were all present at this park. No liquid soap dispenser just a soap bar. Floor mats from shower put on the clothing bench in shower to dry. Toilet brushes placed on the toilet seats after cleaning.
Parking:- Park outside office.
Local Information:- Ravensthorpe is a nice small town Good IGA supermarket. Scenic lookout 10 KLM from town a nice drive along a good dirt road.
