Qld, Forsayth, Cobbold Camping Village

Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints. Reasonable value for money $51 for 2A, ensuite, peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool, heated, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- The staff are excellent and the service and food is good quality. The meals are reasonably priced for the location. They have very good tours of the gorge and helicopter flights.
Disliked:- The road form Georgetown (90klms is very rough and mostly dirt. It takes about 2 hrs to do the trip. The road from Forsayth is 40 klms and rough in places
Local Information:- The boat trip up the gorge is excellent and the guides are very good and knowledgable.
Road Conditions:- The road in is corrigated, dusty and windy requiring plenty of care and slow sections.

Qld, Chillagoe, Chillagoe Tourist Village

This park is rundown. We visited this park 20 years ago and everything is the same just worn out. You pick your own site in the mis-mash of taps and power outlets. There are no lights in the park at night. The dump point is at the end of town in the rodeo grounds.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Poor value for money $30 for 2A, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Noisy, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. Clean pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- Closeness to the caves and town facilities
Disliked:- Long way from the powered sites to the toilets and showers. There are dongers in the park for workers and they use the only 2 showers/toilets as well as the visitors.
Local Information:- The cave tours are a must and a visit to the ford museum and the old smelters. Plenty to do for a few days. The people are helpful and friendly.
Road Conditions:- Some dirt roads but well maintained.

Qld, Karumba, Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park

Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints. Good value for money $51 for 2A, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, book swap available, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, claustrophobic park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- Closeness to the boat ramp to go on fishing charters. Watching the sunset at the pub.
Disliked:- Very small sites with which take some getting into particularly when the park is full.
Parking:- parking bay defined for check in
Added Touches:- Have a very good fish cleaning area and disposal of the remains.
Local Information:- Fishing in the bay and catching decent fish was great
Road Conditions:- Sealed road all the way to Karumba. Some sections between Mt Surprise and Georgetown have one lane sealed and the edges are well maintained. There are many one ;lane bridges on this road and lots of road trains with call points. It is helpful if you use the call points to let the big transports know you are approaching the bridges.

NSW, Coffs Harbour, Sapphire Beach Holiday Park

Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $32 for 2A, powered, off-peak season. Paid $35, reduced for Discount for May. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Good playground, in good condition. Clean pool, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Friendly staff and lots of brochures on things to do. Very short walk to a lovely beach.
Disliked:- Steep hill into and out of the park.
Local Information:- Many things to do around Coffs. One of our favourites is to go dwon to the jetty and get some fresh cooked fish and sit and eat it.

ACT, Canberra, Alivio Tourist Park - O'Connor

Average staff friendliness, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $50 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, bbq area lighting. Good playground, in good condition. Clean pool, heated. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Easy access to Canberra. Good Amenities with a heat lamp. Wonderful camp kitchen. Fully enclosed with areas to chat and 2 tvs
Disliked:- We have a 24ft van and the corners are to tight and the van jumps the gutter. Most sites are not level. Washing is $6 per load and so is the dryer and you have to get tokens from reception.

WA, Perth, Kingsway Tourist Park - Madeley

This park has new management. There are now locks on the amenities doors that require a code. The park is well situated for shops and vehicle/caravan repairs. Permanent and semi permanent residents now have some of the prime overnight sites. $35 a night is good value but we will not be staying here any more.

WA, Perth, Advent Caravan And Camping Park - Maida Vale

This is a park with all the basics including new showers and toilets. $36.50 per day and discount for a week when paid in advance. Glenn the caretaker is in office between 8 to 10am and 4 to 6pm. High Wycombe is 5 minutes away with PO and Coles. You can also store your caravan and car etc at a nominal rate if you want ot go away for a short trip. We went to Bali for 2 weeks and the cost was $8.50 per day with power to the caravan. Cheapest in Perth and only a $30 fare from the airport.

WA, Exmouth, Ningaloo Caravan And Holiday Resort

Easy walking access to town along formed paths. Refuel out of town at 24 hr fueling (in industrial area) is by card only and is 3 cents cheaper per litre than anywhere else in town with discounts.

Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Liked:- Secure entry and exit. Staff very helpful no matter what question. Fuel voucher for 5 cents a litre off.
Disliked:- Very little grass and shade.
Added Touches:- Discount coupon for fuel.
Local Information:- Swimming with the whale sharks (we used Kings and had a wonderful day $380 per person) , snorkeling at the Oyster stacks. Lookout at Vlaming lighthouse and great fishing. Good beaches and the water is warm. Cost to go in Cape Range National Park for the day of $12 is a bit steep, concession is $6.60.
Road Conditions:- Good roads to Exmouth.

WA, Mount Augustus, Mount Augustus Tourist Park

A basic park with power site for $33 a night. The amenties are old complete with hot and cold water and frogs. The Mt Augustus walk is worth while and the evening viewing from Emu Lookout. A swim in the Cattle pond is refreshing. Fuel is available with diesel 1.75 per litre. Basic shop and book swap. Good for overnight.

WA, Carnarvon, Wintersun Caravan And Tourist Park

We have stayed at this park previously and enjoyed their hospitality. The amenities are clean, tidy and only 3 years old. The staff where possible help you to park on your site. You can wash your car $3 and caravan $6 on your site. A pool to cool off and something happening 2 nights a week for dinner during the winter months. They operate a tag a long tour of the Gnaraloo Coast on most Sundays during peak season which cost $50 per head and a very good way to see the cost. 5 klms from centrer of town which has a Woolworths and IGA.
