The park is in a great position much cheaper than the waterfront beach parks over the Christmas period the amenities are old but spotless, the few permanents are very friendly and the general atmosphere of the park is good we stayed there 20 months as we liked the place so much, being full time on the road wherever our van is- is home. Would recommend the park, we believe a lot of work has been done since we left there, good shopping in the area only 30klm from Bega and 20 from Eden arrived in October 2013 and left June 2014, have pleasant memories of the park.

Vic, Tallangatta, Lakelands Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2012 Rating: 3.5
We stayed here for about 6 weeks as we had some business to attend to before moving on with our journey around Oz. We were in Wodonga at the BIG4 but found the park there too expensive eg no allowance for week stays [7th night free etc ] and $33 per night, right next to the freeway so it was quite noisy. We came out here for a drive one day and found this delightful park, that is if you want peace and quiet, large sites, great views and nice management. The amenities have seen better days but are spotlessly clean, (being grey nomads we are self contained anyway). There is spectacular bird life Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots, Galahas - it was beautiful. The park is in tiers so everyone has a view of Lake Hume which at the time of our stay was full. Cost $150 per week. We can thoroughly recommend it if you do not want 4 STAR parks with everything laid on as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Lots of things in the area to see and it is only 40 km east of Albury/ Wodonga and a very pleasant drive in. The little town has pretty much all you need - Supermarket, Chemist Post Office etc so you could get everything here if you wanted.

Tas, Bruny Island, Captain James Cook Memorial Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2010 Rating:
Being Geriatric Gypsies we went to Bruny Island on our travels. The park is in a great position with the water just across the road & has panoramic views of Adventure Bay and the whales in early & late winter. It is lovely to go to sleep to the relaxing sound of the waves at night. The sites are reasonably sized with most easy to get into. The amenities are kept spotlessly clean by the friendly staff and the management goes out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. There is plenty of water with good pressure in the showers. A good campers kitchen & two sheds with coin operated barbeques. Chris runs a good charter fishing business with fish & crays in season assured. There are white wallabys in the area & the occasional echidna visiting the park. A feed of calamari squid can be caught from the local jetty. The park has a creek at the back where you can catch bream. There is a well stocked store within walking distance that has a truly amazing range of goods and a restaurant next door to the shop & a bowls club nearby. The park is protected from the worst of the westerly winds by the mountains behind.
