Qld, Hughenden, Allan Terry Caravan Park

We took up two sites as the sites are so small and would not work for us if it was the busy season.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Very good value for money $28 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, dump point, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Quiet, claustrophobic park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.

Qld, Cloncurry, Discovery Holiday Park

Mostly supplying accommodation for miners but is a very well supervised park with some tourist accommodation. There is sixteen grassy sites, a number of non grassed powered sites, some sites with no power and some grass camping areas.
Very friendly staff. Very good value for money $30 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Paid $27, reduced for Discovery Member Discount. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motor homes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean wood BBQs are free. Clean pool, pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Dinner at the Workers Kitchen is excellent. $25 per head / all you can eat including hot meat and vegetables, salads, deserts and drinks. Free washing machines and dryers.

Qld, Lawn Hill, Adels Grove Camping Park

Very friendly staff. Poor value for money $35 for 2A PN, unpowered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, kiosk, dump point, no wireless internet available., mobile wireless not available. Noisy, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Suitable for few days.
Disliked:- We stayed in the Grove as the rest of the park was closed. There are no sites marked out and you park where you can find a suitable spot. The whole area is looking tired and needs some cleaning up.
Road Conditions:- Coming from Burketown the road is bitumen to the MMG Mine turnoff.

Qld, Karumba, Karumba Point Tourist Park

Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motor homes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, kiosk, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean gas BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool, pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Fresh cooked prawns available from kiosk.
Local Information:- Good seafood restaurant next door with BYO. Don't think of staying at Karumba itself as visitors are not made to feel welcome. The turnoff to Karumba Point is before the golf club and is not signposted.

Qld, Normanton, Normanton Tourist Park

Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, annex slabs to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean BBQs. Clean pool, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Excellent large pool which was very clean.
Local Information:- Walk across the road to the "Purple Pub". Good meals.

There is now 16 drive through sites, 6 ensuite sites and 9 sites in front of "The Dam" plus a camping area. They supply hand towels and bath mates for each of the showers.

Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- One of the best parks we have stayed at for some time. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Parking:- Parking is provided just past reception.
Added Touches:- The tour of the gorge was excellent as well as the helicopter flight over the area. These are best booked ahead.
Road Conditions:- The road conditions to the resort are a disgrace and the resort supply a form for guests to make a complaint.

Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $37 for 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded. No wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanent/annual vans. gas BBQs.
Liked:- Each site has its own wood fired BBQ. We had our own firewood supply but you can purchase wood there.
Disliked:- The whole place is a bit untidy and tired. Could do with a refurbishment.
Parking:- Very little space to park at reception and the roads are badly sign posted with the result of a lot of new arrivals getting lost as we did.

Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by.
