Great location out of the rat race and some bush and beach walks are available.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $31 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, book swap available, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanents. Clean wood BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for month or longer, well maintained park.
Liked:- Great setting with friendly staff.
Added Touches:- Communal fire pit with seating, fish cleaning table.
Local Information:- Close to the beach and a courtesy bus is available to get you to Montes Resort for a great seaside lunch or dinner. Only 45 minutes to Airlie Beach and all the Whitsundays has to offer.
Road Conditions:- Road is all sealed to the park.

Qld, Charters Towers, Bluff Downs Farm Stay

Wasn't worth the drive in off the road and you certainly wouldn't want to tow a caravan in. Ignore the advertising brochure and the web site. I think we were the first visitors in awhile. If you do take a van in you will have to park it up by the workers quarters.
Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money $30 for 2A PN, unpowered. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is bad / variable pressure experienced. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site. No wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanents. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- Location on the Basalt River is beautiful.
Disliked:- Facilities are very poor or non existent.
Added Touches:- Fire allowed at your campsite if you choose unpowered.
Road Conditions:- It is a 29km drive on a not so good dirt road off the highway.

A fantastic location with exceptional staff and facilities.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $36 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, book swap available, no wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanents. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Basic playground, in average condition. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Excellent staff and facilities along with a sensational location.
Added Touches:- An infinity pool in the outback overlooking the dam, swim up bar, bar and restaurant facilities, shop with the basics available. Tours of Cobbolt Gorge are very good value for money.
Local Information:- This is the true Qld outback and all it has to offer. Gem fossiking available nearby.
Road Conditions:- Dirt road from Forsayth which is reasonable condition. If you are coming from Georgetown the road to Forsayth is in bad condition.

Qld, Mount Garnet, Mount Garnet Travellers Park

A good overnight stop.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $22 for 2A PN, unpowered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is bad / Variable pressure experienced, there was inadequate hot water, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, no wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanents. UC BBQs, bbq area lighting. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Quietness.

Qld, Port Douglas, Tropic Breeze Van Village

During the winter months the park has many long term travellers from southern states.

Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is bad / Variable pressure experienced, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, van parking, book swap available, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, claustrophobic park, adequate shade, a few permanents. Clean UC BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Clean pool, pool is shaded. Suitable for month or longer, well maintained park.
Liked:- Central location to the beach and the shops.
Disliked:- Many sites are small and whilst being essentially level required an uphill reverse in.
Added Touches:- The park organises some activities such as girls nights out and morning teas.
Local Information:- Right in the heart of Port Douglas so you can walk to everything.

Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, no wireless internet available, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanents. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- A well maintained park on the beach.
Added Touches:- Wood fired pizza available at the bar or can sit on the deck and enjoy a drink, tourist information available on site with helpful staff. Walking on the beach at sunrise or sunset is the added bonus.
Local Information:- Easy access to all that Cape Tribulation has to offer.
Road Conditions:- Caravan access only from the south and must use the ferry to cross the Daintree River. Road is a bit narrow and twisting. Access from the north is via the Bloomfield track which at times can be 4wd only and very steep in places.

A great location to sit back and relax amongst the palms and trees and listen to the falls.

Liked:- A well maintained, quiet park in a lovely setting.
Added Touches:- There is a large communal fire pit available with log seating in a ring of palm trees for catching up with fellow travellers.
Local Information:- Based at the Endeavour Falls which is a small water fall on the north arm of the Endeavour River. You can let the gentle sound of the falls lull you to sleep. Close to Cooktown and all that it offers.
Road Conditions:- Some dirt road to get there but the road was in good condition.

Qld, Mareeba, Granite Gorge Nature Park

Currently upgrading the camp kitchens and viewing deck over the Granite Gorge. Will be a great spot to watch the wallabies and the sunset when finished.

Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanents. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Access to some great walks around the gorge.
Disliked:- Amenities need upgrading.
Added Touches:- Fires allowed at most sites.
Local Information:- Access to all of the Atherton Tablelands and only a short drive into Mareeba.
Road Conditions:- Sealed road but take the access from the Mareeba end if you have a larger van.

Liked:- Nice quiet park with good facilities.
Local Information:- It is a close walk to the local hotel for a meal or a drink, tourist information available at the shop, locals are all friendly and helpful.
Road Conditions:- All sealed roads.

Liked:- Location is good being on the river.
Disliked:- Is in a bit of disrepair.
Local Information:- Can fish in the river or can hire a canoe.
Road Conditions:- Dirt road to get into the park and poorly signed.
