Vic, Glenrowan, Glenrowan Tourist Park

Date of Stay: December 2014 Rating: 3
Train is about 1klm away and freeway even further. You can hear trains and traffic when no wind. Basically there is no grass - all hard standing. A couple of klm's out of town. Consider this as a good overnighter or for a couple of days while you catch up with the Ned Kelly museum, show and related historical locations in the area. There is no playground there, however there is a sand pit with some bits and pieces.
Very friendly staff, no complaints. Very good value for money $25 for 2A, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic rec room, good camp kitchen, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Clean UC electric BBQs fuel costs $1, bbq area lighting, seating provided. No playground. Clean pool, pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days.

Liked:- Some sites have a grassed annex area we had one -some dirt or gravel.
Disliked:- No dump point but there are two in town.
Parking:- At the western end of town. Park in the side road adjacent to the Hotel and check in at the bar. Entry to the park is from the side road.
Added Touches:- Washing machines are free.
Local Information:- Plenty to see and do. Australian Age of Dinosaurs, Lark Quarry, Waltzing Matilda Centre, Bladensburg NP, Historic town buildings. Not a bad meal at the Hotel with complimentary beer or wine with meal if staying in the park.
Road Conditions:- Reasonable to good bitumen roads in most directions (this is black soil country so roads can be bumpy in places)

Qld, Charleville, Charleville Bush Camp

Date of Stay: June 2014 Rating: 3
This is a new bush camp site. It is under trial with a 2 year permit from Council. It is a very simple bush camp. No power. Taps to top up water tanks (good town water). Must have own toilet. No Smoking. There are no facilities other than a dump point. Pets are allowed. Shaded or unshaded sites. Level sites, somewhat grassed despite the drought. Camp host on site. Owned by the same couple who own the Charleville Bush Caravan Park. Room for any size rig. Generators allowed 9am to 9pm. At the moment no need to book. $5 PP/PN.

Qld, Charleville, Charleville Bush Caravan Park

As described by others. A most pleasant spacious park. Do not confuse this with the Charleville Bush Camp (Owned by the same couple and on the same property but accessed from a different road and much more basic - see separate report)
