Vic, Ballarat, BIG4 Ballarat Windmill Holiday Park

On arrival we found staff friendly and helpful. Sites big enough for big rigs with water and sullage close by. Amenities just upgraded with enough showers and toilets to cater for a full park. Soap, and hand drying provided. A lot of money has been spent of this park providing jumping pillow and indoor pool with spa. Great rec room with wood heater providing warmth on cold day/night. Good lighting around park. Most sites level. The only down side to this park is the speed of cars which drive through the park. We bought it to the attention of staff and to their credit they approached the drivers and yes, these people did slow down but there seemed to be no other control in different areas of the park and new comers were just as bad. We were very fearful for our grandchildren's safety and for that reason I have marked the rating down.

Friendly staff on arrival. Nice trees for shade if required. Sites will take big rigs. Plenty of hot water and nice clean amenities. Fairly small park with amenities close to sites. Sites clean and grassed well. Water and sullage close to vans. Good night lighting. Some sites back onto lake with a lovely 1 km walk around it. A lovely setting for a park. Worth another visit.

What a pleasure to be received by such warm, smiling people at this park. Park very well cared for with big open fire in the rec room. Wild life in abundance including kangaroos, birds and rabbits. Warm pool and some trees. Plenty of hot water for showers. Amenities excellent with able to have your own bathroom. All very clean. Some trees but no slabs to sites. Some of the park is level but other sections on a small slope. Around 4 kms out of town with just a few shops which are quite pricey so do shopping before arrival. Hotel has a nice meal on Friday, Sat and Sunday but early in the week is not as good. I would recommend this park and would love another visit sometime in the near future.

Nice friendly park. Sites large and flat. Close to taps and sullage. Good night lighting. Amenities nice and clean with soap and hand drying provided. Jumping pillow, clean pool and safe play ground. Boom gates in and out so considered safe. Some lovely trees around for shade. Some sites back onto the Gumbower Creek so sitting under the Willow trees on the banks of the creek (which is big enough to be classed as a large river) is very pleasant. This is a large park with a lot of annuals and not a lot of sites for tourists so perhaps a phone before arrival might be worth while. Basic laundry and also dump point in park. Easy walk to town which has an IGA with most things you would require, although I did notice a butcher and fruit shop in town as well. Good Telstra phone coverage. A nice visit.

A return visit for us and it was just as good as the first. No changes. Still $10.00 for powered site. No slabs. Some trees for shade. $10.00 dep of key. Some shops closed and others opened on weekend. We stayed for 11 nights and enjoyed every one of them. Will return.

Nice park but found manager to need a few lessons on how to be a little more friendly. If we hadn't been tired I would have moved on to the next town. Having said that, park was clean and well looked after with good lighting. Park divided with plenty of room for large rigs on the other side of the bridge. When cold or wet this can be quite a walk to the other side. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. A good stop if you need to make an early get a away without disturbing your neighbour as where we stayed there was plenty of room. A nice town to visit, just a pity about the managers approach.

Re-visited park and found Steve & Kim just as friendly. Like a chat and nothing too much trouble. Still a pleasure to visit with night lighting very good and amenities nice and clean. Autumn a lovely time to visit with all the leaves in the park dropping. Easy walk to town which has everything you would need. $28.00 powered site & $36.00 for the beginning of school holidays.

A very tired park needing a lot of TLC. New managers been in position only 3 weeks with a big job ahead of them. Very friendly and doing their best. Small park with a few cabins. No slabs but a few trees for shade. Amenities in very poor condition. Hot water with soap container for washing hands but no soap in it. No hand dryer or paper towels. Doors don't close properly on shower and some cracked and chipped tiles. Lighting poor within park, but did get some from street lighting. $25.00 for powered site for 2 people. 7 minute walk to town.

A warm welcome to greet us was welcomed. Good security with boom gates. Nice clean park with some slabs and few trees. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water in amenities. Good swimming pool. Good night lighting, but felt tariff was over priced at $45.00 for 2 people for powered site with Big 4 discount. Close to beach but quite a long walk to town.

Friendly and courteous staff on arrival. Water front views nice but windy. Have to drive to town. Limited slab sites. Not many trees for shade in summer. Connection to mains water impossible from some sites. No showers in rear toilet block, requiring long walk to main shower block. Rear toilet block on water front requires more dedicated cleaning. Quiet park away from road noise. Loud music on weekends from adjacent hotel. Security good with cameras on entry and exit boom gates. Overall, park needs some TLC.
