SA, Renmark, Riverbend Caravan Park

Date of Stay: September 2017 Rating: 3.5
It's a lovely park without the frills of the Big 4 down the road but is about $11 per night cheaper to compensate. Anyway if you haven't got little kids in tow who wants to pay for all the play stuff. The park has good clean amenities and the water is nice and soft. Can't agree with previous report in regards to it leaving you smelly etc. No one in our party of 6 had this issue. Sites were big and mostly flat. Didn't see any slabs and quite a few were not grassed especially the drivethroughs. Previous reports about entrance and exit issues are spot on.

Located just to the north of town about 11kms south from Mildura. A medium sized park with some sites on the small side ie a caravan plus awning plus car besides won't work. The sites have slabs and are quite grassy. Amenities have been recently refurbished but good luck adjusting the shower taps to give a comfortable shower. You either get scolded or freeze. New swimming pool would be good in summer. Good owner.

A smallish park in a great location on the south side of the bridge with a new amenities block. If approaching from the south, the entrance is very easy to miss. The sign needs to face oncoming traffic instead of pedestrians crossing the road and it's quite a narrow angular entrance. Many of the sites have new double slabs with the best couch grass to walk on. Some shower curtains would be helpful. There's a small supermarket and bottle shop next door.

Having a small rig meant a powered site at the eastern end closest to the break wall. The sites are really tight and a bit up and down. No concrete slabs here. Amenities at this end of the park consist of about 10 separate toilet/ shower combos which are clean and seem to work well. Quiet at night even though the road is nearby. Dump site is up this end.

Plenty of $ being spent updating facilities in this park. Three new amenities blocks being built leaving one nearest the entrance to cater for the remainder of the park which over winter is the way to go. Also a new skate/scooter area being constructed on fifth av near the swimming pool. If they have any $ left over my dying wish is the owners rip up the gutters which are car/van killers. And please some new slabs, the old ones are woeful.

Tas, Mole Creek, Mole Creek Caravan Park

This relatively unstructured park should please most people. Checkin is easy and costs $25 unpowered or $30 powered. The park is situated right beside (literally) Sasafrass Creek where plenty of unpowered sites and a few powered sites are available. All sites are flat and very well grassed. The creek is home to the odd platypus and on the other side cows graze all day. 6 resident chooks are very friendly. Amenities are not so good being old and not enough toilets or showers. There are plenty of fire pits around and free firewood to the right of the camp kitchen. 8 kms down the road towards Deloraine is Trowunna wildlife park. Go there for the 11am feeding of wombats and devils, you will not be disappointed.

I'm back after a month and did I forget to say the WIFI performance will drive you crazy and the showers in the gents are a lottery - hot comes and goes and next time is good enough. There's a reason the mop is in the showers - the poor tiling job combined with no curtain results in way too much run off into the change area. I know it's picky but it's raining.

Great staff manage this small and old park which is used by most people as a link to Maria Island. Sites are tight and slabs are up and down. Fire places are free from the office and you can get firewood from the IGA. Showers and toilets are clean and H/W constant. The camp kitchen is very airy and wouldn't get much action in winter. Can't remember what we paid but it wasn't unreasonable. A very quiet park. Nice fish and chips down at the boat harbour just a 5 min walk away. Maria Is is worth the trip.

Tas, Somerset, Somerset Beachside Cabin And Caravan Park

Date of Stay: March 2017 Rating: 3.5
Located 10 mins west of Burnie right opposite the beach, this place was once a drive in theatre so it's flat. Sites are roomy and wide with reasonable grass but from my van to the dump point it must have been 100 metres at least. Amenities are old but clean and H/W is constant. Management very friendly. WIFI is best from the common lounge next to the office.

Tas, Hadspen, Discovery Holiday Park

Date of Stay: March 2017 Rating: 2.5
Ancient amenities block attached to the office. H/W is useless. It doesn't remain at a constant setting and stops altogether after a few mins. At least it is very hot when you can get it right for a moment. There are lots of villas and clearly the owners couldn't give a stuff about caravanners. The campkitchen was also ancient and basic in comparison to other parks.
