WA, Walpole, Rest Point Holiday Village

Date of Stay: January 2018 Rating: 3
Friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $40 for 2A, powered, peak season. Paid $36, reduced for Top Tourist membership. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic rec room, basic camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, claustrophobic park, inadequate shade. Clean UC BBQs. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Liked:- Close to the inlet, scenic location, lots of grassed areas, boat ramp right next door, Top Tourist discount, dog friendly (deposit required and behavior monitored).
Disliked:- Narrow internal roads - very hard to negotiate as cars and boats were parked along them. Amenity blocks are all at one end of the park so we met several families (both older people and some with children) who, because their sites were up the other end of the park, needed to drive to the toilet block. No shade. Toilet blocks were old and in need of maintenance.
Added Touches:- Bouncy mat for children, fish cleaning table, boat ramp.
Local Information:- Natural inlet, fishing, nearby tall forests and tree top walk, 1/2 hour from Denmark and wineries,
