NSW, Nambucca Heads, Ingenia Holidays White Albatross

Date of Stay: February 2015 Rating: 4
This park is situated in a gorgeous part of Nambucca Heads, The 'ooh' effect when you first come upon it. Very busy, very popular. It has pretty much all you could wish for and we were really enjoying it until we asked if we could change sites to the front row, water views became vacant. These were only $5 per night more. We originally booked 7 nights which gave us a discount. No problem except we would have to move back after 4 nights as it was booked ahead by others. Went to pay extra $20 only to be told now we owed them $50 as we had broken the contract by moving, so discount was forfeited - no leeway given -bitter taste has been left and we have decided to leave 1 day early. We wont be back . There are plenty more 'ooh' views around this beautiful country.

Initially very happy with park and amenities. However 2nd night a horrendous storm arrived and we lost our awning - shredded - hurt my hand trying to hold supports. Gave up wind too ferocious. We were the only occupants of the park. Management ignored our plight. Upon waking day after and cleaning up the debris still no management to see to our welfare. They did appear after storm had abated but only to pick up overturned bins and drag some branches away. Cannot believe people in this business can be so callous.

Basic laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC BBQs, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families.
Liked:- Situated next to the Lake and always a beautiful breeze.
Disliked:- Needs some TLC but horrendous drought and water restrictions .
Local Information:- Walk to Castletown Shopping Town via the Lake and only 5 mins. Lots of fast food outlets and Mercure Hotel right next door for breakfast and dinner only. This Lake supports lots of wildlife ie Pelicans, Ducks and fish do jump out. While you can fish locals advise not to eat them as waterways rather polluted at the moment.
Road Conditions:- Internal road rather broken up but OK.
