Liked:- Proximity to Yabba Creek, which runs along the southern boundary of the park. Spacious sites, plenty of shade. Room enough for a prime mover to get into most sites. Managers are friendly and very helpful. This is a great park for singles, couples and families. But don't come here if you are looking for all the mod cons, this is essentially a campground of the kind that were everywhere 30 years, down to portable firepots to use in campsites. You can fish in the creek, or hire a kayak to paddle up and down. Lake Borumba is 4km up the road, and you can hire a rotary motor boat to take out on the Lake from the park. Another huge advantage is that the park is truly pet friendly. $50 refundable deposit (no matter the number of pets), and an additional $2 a day (again, no limit on numbers). Pets must be on lead at all times, and you are expected to clean up after them (they provide bags on check-in). There is a huge (2 acre) fenced dog paddock where your furry friend can run off lead, and they are allowed to swim in the creek, again, on lead.
Parking:- Pull off road as far as you can.
Added Touches:- Free kids activities during school holidays, Christmas activities (carols etc), NYE disco (also Aust. Day), karaoke & movies during peak holiday seasons.
Local Information:- Fishing in creek of at Borumba Dam. In the heart of the Mary Valley.
Road Conditions:- 5 single lane bridges between Imbil & BDP. Road is windy but good condition. Driveway long & a bit bumpy - best to go into 1st gear, and go slow.

Qld, Tin Can Bay, Kingfisher Caravan Park

Date of Stay: November 2014 Rating: 3
Well-located, friendly staff. Sites are a good size, we have 9m bus/motor home and Barina. Can fit bus, car and awning (5m) on site. Some sites with slabs, others grass/sand. Pet-friendly. Amenities average, although new shower/toilets will be done by Christmas, and new dump point is in. Cabins are available, from $85 night. Peak times fill up early. Some permanents. Long-termers tend to be friendly and helpful, as do Cliff and his staff. Good rate-$180 week for a month, power and water included. Showers have good pressure, and plenty of hot water. Good for an overnighter, a week, or longer. Close to everything you need for comfortable living; major supermarket a 10 minute drive, marina across the road, boat hire down the road. You can book Fraser Island tours at park office. Prompt response to emails/phone calls. If you are not a fan of noisy birds, this is not the place for you; there are resident rainbow lorikeets, red-faced honey eaters, magpies and blue-faced honey eaters in the park, plovers close by, sulfur-crested cockatoos and galahs also visit often.
