Vic, Rutherglen, Rutherglen Caravan And Tourist Park

Date of Stay: July 2017 Rating: 4
Lisa and Dennis still operate the park. Cost $35 a night (school holidays) but currently have a pay for 5 get 7 nights deal. Dump point has been installed and toilet/ shower block is about to get a small makeover. Not a lot of grass at present and can get a bit muddy with rain but most blocks have a slight slope so tends to drain. Weather permitting still have an afternoon campfire for happy hour. Good camp kitchen but could do with a heater in the winter months. Great base for visiting the nearby wineries.

$32 a night 2 people on 3 night special deal. Dog friendly. Staff very friendly and helpful as I had to do some repairs and they lent me tools to do the job. Good value for money being start of school holidays. Good toilets and showers. Have drive through sites, some other sites would cater for only smaller vans. Entertainment put on for children. Suitable for a week or more.

$8 a night 2 people unpowered. Old but clean toilets and showers, free washing machine and open fires allowed in season. Nice little town with a great free Museum about the first Aboriginal cricket team and a section devoted to Don Bradman. River was up and fish were being caught. Great spot to visit suitable for a few days.

A bit over priced for what you get but has the makings of a great park. Management a bit hit and miss, did not have a good knowledge of the layout of the park sites and had double booked a few sites. Huge unpowered camping areas.
