Qld, Moonie, Moonie Crossroads Roadhouse Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 3.5
Okay for the overnight stay. As this is a crossroad to other areas, and trucks frequent the stop, it can be a little noisy at times. Caravan park is attached to motel and service station. From the caravan site, it is 100 meters to walk to cafe and eating area (which is very large with plenty of room for sit down meal). The caravan park, small (14 sites), only has one toilet and shower for males, and the same for females. More toilets and showers are up at the cafe.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $25 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. No rec room, no camp kitchen, no wireless internet available. carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Noisy, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanents. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Liked:- The meals at the cafe were great, being a truckie stop.
Disliked:- Only one shower/toilet, noise of trucks.
Parking:- Plenty of room to park.

Qld, Hervey Bay, Shelly Beach Caravan Park - Torquay

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 4
Good park off the main beach area and quieter. Many permanents in park and driveway to site is very narrow. I had to get the guy opposite to move his vehicle so I could get my 18ft van onto my site. The cement slab we had was very high off the ground. To back in (due to the lack of room to maneuver, I had to put wood blocks down to drive over, otherwise the cement slab would have been too high. Shower hot water is for 6 minutes before it runs out.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $29 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic rec room, basic camp kitchen, secure entry, book swap available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, claustrophobic park, adequate shade, many permanents. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Location off busy roads.
Disliked:- Narrow access to sites.
Parking:- Easy parking outside.

Manager's name is Sara and Jeff.
What a wonderful caravan park to stay at. We were shown to our site before paying, and before I could get to the office to pay, Sara wandered over with scones, jam and cream, and make us feel right at home. They invited us to the gathering around the fire at 5pm. The amenities were fine for the park size (only 20 odd vans). So quiet at night time, being 3ks from the highway.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $25 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, basic rec room, basic camp kitchen, book swap available, no wireless internet available., mobile wireless not available carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanents. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- The friendly atmosphere.
Disliked:- The amenities, although clean, were showing age.
Parking:- Easy to park on main road in town and walk in.
Added Touches:- Pub walking distance for a meal. Will take you out to airfield to show you museum.
Road Conditions:- 3kms from highway. Sealed road to town in good condition.

NSW, Temora, Temora Caravan Park

Date of Stay: June 2014 Rating: 3.5
While this is adequate for the short overnight stay, and the amenities adequate, the road noise from trucks at night, as the park is on the main road is a little off putting. If you need to stay in Temora, and do not mind the 7am flight into the airport, the airfield (both run by the council) is the better option as it has much better facilities and is quieter (as long as there is no air show).

Run by the Compass group and is set up for miners with many permanents in the park. The good news is that have just finished a new amenities block which is very clean and new. The locals were friendly enough but it does not have many spare sites and is good for a max of a few days. Friendly staff. Reasonable value for money ($27 2A PN, powered, shoulder season). Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. In August, 2013, BIG4 sold park to Residential Parks consortium. It is now known as Gateway Lifestyles Residential Park and within the next 18 months the caravan side will be progressively shut down as they build luxury apartments here. Only stay here if in need of short Brisbane stay. Staff were really not interested in caravans. Girl shut office for lunch break of 1 half hours. Difficult getting on and off sites as road very narrow and sloped. Unfriendly staff. $35 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by.
