Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, claustrophobic park, adequate shade. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- It is conveniently located to town centre and also to the botanic gardens. Room to walk the dog.
Disliked:- the park is on two levels and is quite long in shape so that some sites are quite a distance from facilities. In our instance we were to the rear of the park and had to negotiate a rather steep bank in order to obtain power. Not good if one has mobility issues. Whilst I have mentioned that the park is claustrophobic, it was not so much where we located to the rear of the park.
Local Information:- Castlemaine is a nice town with plenty of facilities, coffee shops, hotels for meals etc and is close to other small towns and places of interest. Centrally located for a good look around driving.

This is a large Park and I am sure i have put a report in about it quite some time ago, however, Situated out of town a little way on the Western HIghway but not so far as to be inconvenient, (a five minute drive). We stayed there for one night in a drive through site which was okay for us as we did not intend going into town and so remained hitched up. The drive through sites are near to the office but are subject to park traffic going by and can be quite dusty as a result as they are just gravel. No shade. Water and power okay, lighting okay and room to walk the dog. A pool was popular whilst we were there although we did not use same. Plenty of powered sites available and also cabins. We paid $36 for one night (2 adults) which I thought a bit exxy for what was provided although it seems that park prices are on the rise of late. It did seem to be a popular park as it had quite a few vans and campers there at the time of our visit. Located a sufficient distance from the highway so that road traffic noise was not a great problem. We have stayed at the Riverside Park on previous occasions and consider that a preferable park. Having said that, I would still stay at this park if other was not available. Staff were friendly enough.

What a little gem! Off the road and down a side street this park will accommodate about 8-9 vans, some grassed and some not. Council run. Quiet location with open paddocks just across the road. Room to walk the dog if you have one. Amenities small but adequate for size of park. We were advised that an upgrade of amenities was due to take place very soon. Short walk to town centre and local pub for a meal. Good value at $20pn powered watered site. Good for O/N or a couple of days.

Manager's name is Local Council
The park is undergoing an upgrade to put in more cabins, some of which are designed to facilitate disability access. I would liked to have seen more grassed sites but watering same would no doubt be a problem.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $33 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. You can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Noisy, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Liked:- Not overcrowded when we were there.
friendly staff

With the charges for a "pet friendly" site as they were I would consider staying at a nearby small town caravan park instead, notwithstanding that this park is located a reasonable distance from town centre.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Poor value for money PN, powered, peak season. Paid $55.50, reduced for at chain discount. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Dump point, secure entry, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- That they provided powered van sites that were enclosed that allowed for pets to roam within. Reasonably maintained park. Ballarat has a train station that gets one into Melbourne city without the hassle of having to travel to the city by car.
Disliked:- The charges for having a "pet" site. ($55.50) when parks in other towns allow pets on van sites for no extra cost so long as pets are under control. Pet area is unique but is in its development stage but still charging full price. Located near to pet sites was an area for large rigs (buses etc) and groups using same were a bit rowdy (but not obscene) so disturbed the tranquility of the stay.

This park is conveniently located to the town centre (a few minutes drive). Plenty of grassed powered sites which are level but are without shade. When the park is not busy it is easy for a drive through and to remain hooked up if only staying the one night. lighting is adequate, access roads are sealed, water pressure is adequate and there is a modern but small camp kitchen. A selection of herbs are grown in containers near to the kitchen but would be seasonal. An outside fire pit is also available nearby to the kitchen. There are shaded sites however these are not grassed if that is what you are after. The amenities block is somewhat dated and quite in need of upgrading. There is room to walk the dog if you have one and the river is a short walk down to the marina. Seniors discount is available. Cabins and e/s sites are also available. This park is one that is still a work in progress but one that is quite okay for an O/N or longer with family though I did not see any play equipment. One thing I noticed was the absence of rubbish bins near to sites ... a large dump bin is located near to the amenities block, quite a walk from some of the sites.

Very basic park attached to Service Station. $27pn for a powered/water site. Would not pay any more. Amenities were dated and average. Lighting was okay, plenty of room to exercise the dog. limited shade to some sites only. No real complaints, you get what you pay for. Would stay again for an overnight stay but would consider the town's Rec Area as an alternative.

Okay for a one/two night stopover. Powered site (no water as can be expected). A few sites with a little shade. Amenities were a little distance from some sites and it was coin operated. Water pressure was okay, toilets okay and all tolerably clean. Camp kitchen needed attention and upgrade. Was a short walk to the Service Station. Prices inflated as could be expected. The Old Telegraph Station is a few kms away and worth a visit for historical reasons.

A pleasant park for a short stopover and to consider if wanting to regulate your trip from Ceduna and across the Nullarbor or vice versa. Well run and friendly manager/owner. Good lighting, roomy (we were the only ones there), facilities/amenities clean. Little/no shade. Water and sullage good. Windmill museum adjacent to park is of interest. A short walk to hotel for meals if that is required (we didn't so cannot comment on quality). Plenty of room to exercise the dog if you have one. Would stay again. Good value at $30pn powered site.
