Vic, Geelong, Eldorado Tourist Park - Batesford

Date of Stay: October 2023 Rating: 3.5
Average staff friendliness, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money $49 for 2A PN, ensuite. Cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, very few sites are shaded, ensuite sites available, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, dump point, secure entry, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, many permanent/annual vans. Clean pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- level sites and large area to exercise dog. Close to city of Geelong
Disliked:- Only had ensuite sites available and these were somewhat dated and a bit exxy for what they were. With some effort and investment this park has a great deal of potential, particularly as the Tassy Ferry now leaves from Geelong. At the moment 2023, it needs a lot of work to be done and good management to achieve it.
Parking:- wait in parking area adjacent to office so as not to block road into park.
Local Information:- Good meals to be had at the Sphinx Hotel along the way into Geelong city
Road Conditions:- Good road.

SA, Murray Bridge, Murray Bridge Marina Camping & Caravan Park

We have stayed at this park a number of times and will continue to do so. It continues to improve from our first visit several years ago. No doubt the recent floods put things on hold for a while. The amenities block as mentioned in a previous report is somewhat dated and could do with a good refurbishment and perhaps the installation of a further building to service a growing patronage. We stayed in the grassed area which does not have any mature trees to provide shade but time will fix that. Still a work in progress. Good water pressure, some ensuite sites available. good mobile reception, lighting, space to walk the dog, nice little camp kitchen which could become crowded when park is full. Herb garden for patrons. Friendly staff. Discount for seniors.Murray River a short walk nearby and township a short 5 min drive. Convenient location.

Vic, Warrnambool, Warrnambool Holiday Park

Date of Stay: October 2023 Rating: 4
This park "Tasman Holiday Parks" 33 Lava Street, Warrnambool is a small park and a bit tight to move into. Only ensuites were available but as we were self-contained and did not require an ensuite they allowed us a discount for not using the ensuite facilities. Amenities were very clean, good water pressure etc and we were in a spot protected from the prevailing wind. The kitchen looked quite good even though we did not use it and the pool was an inside pool. A lot of cabins and there seemed to be a bit of upgrading of the park taking place where van sites were allocated. Not a bad experience overall. Friendly staff. A short walk to city centre. Ensuite units were a little dated from what we could see. $40pn (not using the ensuite).

Vic, Daylesford, Jubilee Lake Caravan Park

Date of Stay: October 2023 Rating: 3.5
A pleasant park with plenty of space to exercise the dog. Wildlife is abundant with peacocks, ducks and the like and a lake at which you can try your fishing skills. Has a restaurant attached however we did not take advantage of it. Amenities were clean. Although this park is a little way out of town (not that far) the $40pn made it a much better choice than the park closer in not withstanding that the other park may be considered a little better. This park was a little hilly but we managed to be given a site that was quite okay. The other park was also hilly. All in all, this is a reasonable park to stay at. There appeared to be a few permanents.

Manager's name is Local Council
The park is undergoing an upgrade to put in more cabins, some of which are designed to facilitate disability access. I would liked to have seen more grassed sites but watering same would no doubt be a problem.

Vic, Nhill, Nhill Caravan Park

Date of Stay: March 2022 Rating: 3.5
What a little gem! Off the road and down a side street this park will accommodate about 8-9 vans, some grassed and some not. Council run. Quiet location with open paddocks just across the road. Room to walk the dog if you have one. Amenities small but adequate for size of park. We were advised that an upgrade of amenities was due to take place very soon. Short walk to town centre and local pub for a meal. Good value at $20pn powered watered site. Good for O/N or a couple of days.
