Qld, Canungra, Canungra Recreation Ground

Date of Stay: January 2020 Rating: 3.5
This is a Showground, which suits us. Plenty of space to spread out. Clean showers and toilets. Friendly, helpful management. Easy walk to town, excellent hotel and bakery. Room even in midJanuary, creek frontage. We look forward to returning.

NSW, Lake Conjola, Lake Conjola Waterfront Caravan Park

Date of Stay: February 2016 Rating: 3
This is an older style, heritage listed park right on the lake. Dog friendly. Excellent camp kitchen. Easy walk to the beach, but much better swimming in the protected, clean, clear, shallow waters of the lake. New amenities block. The other 2 parks were crowded and appeals to families and lots of kids with jumping pillow and pools. This is a quieter park and we enjoyed our week here. Will return.

Vic, Melbourne, Crystal Brook Tourist Park - East Doncaster

Date of Stay: December 2015 Rating: 3
This is an older park, average amenities block could do with some TLC. Management welcoming and helpful. Excellent camp kitchen and good pool. Some sites a little tight to get into. Excellent location. Near bike/walking tracks. Five minute drive to shopping centre. We'll be back!

Qld, Sunshine Coast, Cooroy No Worries RV Camp - Cooroy

Date of Stay: August 2015 Rating: 3
This is something different. A nursery that now has a council approved RV stop. DFP, one of the few on the Sunshine Coast. Large area for RVs for up to 4 nights. Cost $5 per person and $5 if you want power. Tank water available at 2c per 100 litres. There is a basic shower and toilet on site. Very good kitchen and a couple of undercover tables and chairs. Friendly management. Whole site clean and well set out. Convenient to the Bruce Highway, about 2 minutes drive off the Cooroy exit. We enjoyed the experience and a good alternative to the highly priced local caravan parks.

Qld, Bundaberg, AAOK Riverdale Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2015 Rating: 3.5
Right on the river bank, opposite the CBD. This CP was devastated in the last flood, so have had to rethink their business. One new amenities block, dump point, slab sites, minimum gardens, transportable cabins. Friendly management. Immaculate amenities. Basic camp kitchen. At $25 per night for 2 for a powered site, it is very well priced. Just a 20 minute walk across the bridge to town, or 20 minutes walk north to the Hinkler house and park. Reopening special, first night free and just pay $25 for the second night. Thursday a truck and arrived and cooked made to order pizzas for $12. We enjoyed our stay here, probably the best of Bundaberg's caravan parks.

QLD, Airlie Beach, Tasman Holiday Park

Date of Stay: August 2015 Rating: 4
Friendly, helpful staff. Cost was $240 for the week for a powered site for 2a. Sites vary in quality, it may be worth checking first. Our site was too small and staff happy to help us find another one. Spotless amenities. Grounds well maintained, camp kitchen and BBQs very clean. Daily bird feeding that the kids loved. Good location, about 1 km walk to town or Port Airlie where many of the boats leave for island tours. Once a week BBQ for charity. We enjoyed our time at Gateway.

QLD, Charters Towers, Charters Towers Tourist Park

Date of Stay: August 2015 Rating: 4
Probably the best CP in Charters Towers, friendly management. Large undercover camp kitchen area. Looks like portable (old) amenities. Management will try to get as many vans in as possible, depending on the evening. Good social hour with bush poet this month. Twice a week there was an excellent Scout dinner for $15 a head. Requested we take our dog outside the park to excercise and could not be left unattended, which was a bit of a pain really.

QLD, Townsville, Riverside Convention Centre - Aitkenvale

Date of Stay: August 2015 Rating: 4
DFP. Cost $30 for 2 A powered. This is a Seventh Day Adventist Camp which does not allow alcohol or cigarettes. But is in an excellent location with very friendly management and since we have a dog, this was our pick of area parks. Large grassed area, vans parked near power points. Basic but clean amenities. Great walk behind park along the Ross River, including bikeways. Just a 10 minute walk to very large shopping centre with plenty of shops. Just near main road that goes into city. Lots of BBQs and tables along the riverfront to enjoy a waterside dinner. We enjoyed our time here.

QLD, Ilfracombe, Ilfracombe Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2015 Rating: 5
DFP. Cost was $30 per night for a powered site or $25 if you stay three nights. Large sites, many with slabs which was nice to get out of the dust. Spotless amenities. Large shed with a fire lit each night and the owners, Kathy and Jesse, were great at jokes, bush tales with a country delivery that had guests laughing so hard they had tears. Suggest you book ahead because this park was booked out every night. Not hard to see why when you compare it to the Blackall CP charging $32 and crammed in door to door.
